The Piggery Café is a uniquely Australian experience that’s nestled quietly in the Victorian Yarra Ranges.

The café is housed in a restored piggery and stable house that sits on the historic Burnham Beeches estate within the Sherbrooke Forest. The menu is wholesome, uncomplicated, and celebrates the best of Australian ingredients. The surrounding forest provides incredibly rich soil for the property too, which means the adjacent market garden can provide a seasonal menu.

The Piggery is a perfect venue for both small and large parties. When it’s busy on the weekend, people are encouraged to set up their own picnic blankets and grab takeaway items from the café. There is plenty of bocce, lawn bowls and croquet to entertain you for the entire afternoon. You could also take a walk through the gardens and visit the emu enclosure, our pet pigs Bubble and Squeak or the alpacas resting underneath the oak trees in the trufferie.

A rural paradise set in the lush surrounds of Sherbrooke Forest, Burnham Beeches a rustic farm-to-table menu afforded by our own produce gardens and trufferie. A true favourite for picturesque weddings, personal celebrations, corporate activity days and group masterclasses for those near and far. The venue overlooks a slew of tables lay under heating strobes looking out to lawn bowls, croquet, and bocce pitches. Look even further across the 23-hectare estate and into the distance and you’ll spot the 500 tree trufferie, extensive vegetable gardens (now providing organic produce for Vue de monde and other Vue Group restaurants) an emu enclosure, neighbouring alpacas and wandering chickens.

the food was fantastic!! The lady who took our drinks order forgot to bring it out and when we we asked she apologised and gave our drinks to us for free. Food was a bit pricey but delicious. Would defintaely go back!! The outside area for our kids was phenominal and they had a great time.

Very ordinary cafe food. Burgers and chips are all you should expect. Even than it's ordinary.

This was my 2nd visit and I was so disappointed by the food this visit! We ordered the lamb again as it was so incredible last week! Unfortunately it was inedible :-( not only was it over spiced and cold but the actual cut of meat should never have been served. It was 2/5 bone 2/5 fat and 1/5 dry meat :-( the rest of our parties meals (Caesar salad, egg and bacon roll - the bacon because they were out, avo on toast and veggie burger) were all unimpressive and disappointing. This disappointment was made a little better by the incredible service for the waitress and the great atmosphere and location. Hoping this was a bad experience and next time will be back to brilliant!!

I had made a booking for a group of 3 which was good but we ended up sharing a large table with another couple, which we didn’t mind. We would have preferred our own table but being of mature years, didn’t fancy sitting on high stools. The wooden bench seats were very hard! Food was good but sharing a table meant the other people had to pass us cutlery etc as it was only located at one end of the table. I was very disappointed at not being able to have a decaffeinated coffee! That is something that should always be available for people who can’t tolerate caffeine. The location is terrific with lovely views out over the property. In all, a pleasant lunch outing.

Our booking was for 12.45 for 8. We sat for 20 min before we could order drinks which then took another 30 min to arrive. We ordered our food [at 1.30 ] before we got our drinks as we thought as the drinks are taking so long that we better. The food then arrived at 2.30. Staff [ the little staff you had on ] were just blah , no personality no- Hi how are you all today- no smiles. The food came and it was a pulled pork burger and veggie burgers. Last time I checked a burger was a bun not bread. We all got bread 🤷‍♀️ burgers. The meal was ok but so much bread and I have to say though my chips were great but that was only 3 out of the 8 that were good. The kids had cheese toasties. Omg the toast was white, now I might be old fashioned but last time I checked toast was slightly brown. The cheese was bright orange and was like rubber and not even all over the bread [I call it bread and not toast] kids would not eat it. I would not serve it at home. Great looking place though shame about the rest it has so much potential 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Been a number of times previously and loved it but the menu has changed along with the cakes. It’s a great place it’s just not kept pace or true to the character we loved. The bread we bought and took away was beautiful.

Whilst the piggery was excellent some years back, the venue offers so much promise however the food was appalling. No flavour, limited menu variety and over cooked meat with no flavour. Shame
