   During our visit to Zagreb, we had the pleasure of dining at Pod Zidom Bistro, and it was an exceptional culinary experience. The perfectly seasoned beef tartare was a highlight, showcasing the chef’s mastery in balancing flavors. The beef cheek was another standout dish – tender and delicate, it simply melted in the mouth, leaving a lasting impression. The croquettes were an excellent addition, crisp on the outside and paired beautifully with the accompanying sauces, adding depth and richness to every bite. Overall, an unforgettable meal that I would highly recommend to anyone visiting the city.

   We were only in Zagreb for a few hours and came across this gem of a restaurant just off one of the main squares . The food and service was outstanding - I loved the seasonal specials and the artistry with which the food on each plate was displayed . Look forward to a return visit very soon. Great value .

   We were excited to eat at a fancy Michelin starred restaurant! The space is lovely. My partner said his steak was one of the best he has had and thought the sauce and the sides (a potato gratin and a mushroom puree) were excellent. My entree of pork tenderloin was quite good with a delicious mustard brown sugar sauce that complimented the meat well. It was also a larger portion than expected (two large medallions, and they did not have containers to take the second one home but got one from next door). The polenta with it was a little dry and had an unappetizing green coating on top. It smelled like henna or alfalfa. On the down side, we were 10 minutes late for our 9:30 reservation and when we arrived were told the kitchen would soon be closing. When we finished our entrees (about an hour past arrival) we asked for coffee and were told the machine had just been cleaned - but we were offered espresso (and not charged) and not offered dessert. At 11 on a Friday night the staff were busy cleaning up and shutting down (although there were two other larger parties still in the restaurant) and we certainly felt that they wanted us out ( although our server was polite and professional). The feeling of being rushed and not offered to order anything after our entrees is the reason we are not giving it 5 stars. Had we arrived 10 minutes earlier I still do not think we would have been offered to order dessert/coffee/drinks. This is not something I have ever experienced before in a fine dining establishment.

   the food was outstanding as was the service, the rabbit lasagne was probably one of the best dishes I've ever eaten, Bugs Bunny did not die in vain!

   Straight forward menu with very nice options. Elevated dishes served by knowledgeable and curious wait staff. No hurry or rush put on you. Wait staff will explain the menu to you should you have questions and when your food is delivered tell you exactly what's in front of you. Nice, clean and enjoyable environment. Avoid sitting by the door though as when it closes it shuts hard and you'll know it.

    The food was excellent. Beef tartare was superb and the pork tenderloin was superbly cooked. Service was unobtrusive but diligent. Restaurant was very quiet but the staff were very good.
