When we arrived at our reservation time of 11am they hadn't unlocked the doors yet: at 11:10 we called to ask and they very quickly let us in. Not a huge inconvenience but not the best start to our experience! The waitresses were all very helpful and personable, they couldn't do enough for us which was lovely. The bar area itself is just beautiful, we really enjoyed the ambience and the relaxed feel with the views. We had a cocktail each and tried the brunch menu. Drinks were lovely and served very quickly. The croissant buns are delicious, though we did think that the portions could have been slightly bigger as we left a bit hungry. One minor bit of feedback is that the croissant buns are served on top of a napkin on each plate. The napkins were stuck to the buns and ended up absorbing a lot of the syrup and butter. I think it might be better to just serve them on a plate without a napkin.

Lovely meal with three friends at Port of Leith Distillery. Great setting - dramatic views and a light airy space, not too crowded, tables well-spaced and the acoustics were good enough that we could all hear each other and not other diners. Service was very good, if a little slow to get us the menus to start with and didn’t come back to take a cocktail order at the end despite offering cocktails. BUT there was a private event starting at 3pm so perhaps the staff were concentrating a bit more on that. The food was delicious and staff were able to find out most things about the menu to help my friend with special dietary requirements. Could’ve done with a plain white bread (sourdough and the focaccia both had whole grain which didn’t suit my friend) and we thought that £48 for a bottle of Prosecco was a bit pricey. Favourite dishes were the Haggis BonBons with whisky sauce and the incredible “teacake” dessert! All in all, would definitely come again and will recommend to friends looking for a delicious lunch in a stunning space with relaxed vibes.

We had a booking for 8pm but deliberately arrived an hour early to enjoy a drink in the bar as the cocktail options advertised online looked fantastic however there was no option to stand or sit at the bar (due to licensing) and we couldn’t be seated at our table so we were sent away for an hour. Not typically an issue but this restaurant is a bit of a trek from anywhere- so definitely advise people to only turn up at the exact time! Service was mixed. The majority of staff were genuinely excellent. Our first waitress was clearly stressed which was evident in her interactions and set the wrong tone. However the food was great. Views fantastic and overall it was a memorable visit and we will go back.

Gift of 4 course taster menu given to me by family. Amazing venue and views incredible. Staff very helpful and attentive. Food was excellent and very generous portions. I perhaps would not add a bread and butter plate as a course on the menu. It was a 3 course menu.

We waited a long time for our food and when it arrived the steaks were lukewarm. There was a very large 25 works party next to us who were very loud and spent most of the time standing up blocking our view, I feel we should not have been seated in the same area as them.

Fantastic experience! We did a tour and tasting at the distillery and then enjoyed lunch in the restaurant. Isobel was an excellent tour guide and the other staff serving in the restaurant were also excellent. Highly recommended
