   If you love food you should eat at this place. From the service (Thanks Tia) to the food ( Thanks Chef), you are all wonderful. 10/10.

   I had high hopes for this place, but unfortunately, it was a complete disappointment. We were celebrating my husband and I's anniversary, we indicated this in the reservation (we had no expectations), but why ask to leave a note if the staff does not react to it at all. The position of our table was also not the best, of course we wanted more privacy on a special day for us. We were served by a waitress, I can’t give her name, since she didn’t introduce herself. All service was formal, not attentive in my opinion there was a note of arrogance. Unfortunately there were no recommendations what to order, since we have more than 10 years of experience in hospitality, we have an idea of ​​​​good service. There was a feeling that we were being rushed, plates were being cleared without asking, the table was being cleared. Everyone has a work schedule, and in my opinion, for an employee to leave early, this should be a pleasant bonus, but not as an opportunity to rush guests. We really liked some of the dishes, but most were oversalted and had too much oil. Thank you for providing a discount on these dishes. A negative experience is also an experience, I don’t think I’ll come again. Guests come to restaurants not only for the food, but also for the pleasant service and atmosphere in general.

   Our experience was the best as always. The service and food were amazing and there constant willingness to accommodate our many allergies are always so appreciated! Portage never disappoints!

   First rate again. Staff and kitchen always great. Food was out of this world once again. Best restaurant by far in NL five stars all around.

   This is a good restaurant with attentive service and well designed and executed mostly sharing plates. Focus on local and sustainable without sacrificing TASTE !

   Ross and Celeste have made us very happy people last night. After an appetizer of chicken liver and blackcurrant on an amazingly flaky crust, Janet had the pork dumplings, with a side of tatsoi, while I had the Arctic char with Jerusalem artichokes. The combinations of tastes were superb, and the waitress was discreet, but informative and warm. The noise level was somewhat high, maybe because our neighbors were speaking so loud, but the general ambience was congenial. Thank you for an excellent gastronomic experience! We shall return.

   Absolutely outstanding! Food was incredible, staff were so knowledgeable and friendly. Cocktails were amazing and the staff had many suggestions! 10/10 experience 😊
