   Steaks were undercooked there were 3 of us and two steaks were not cooked correctly Soda drinks were flat Cornbread was cold Mashed potatoes got cold waiting for steaks to be recooked thank goodness the service gave us new potatoes

   Went to Porter’s for Valentine’s dinner yesterday and had the special menu. The food was good, but not great. To start, they didn’t bring dinner rolls or bread to the table, but a very sweet cornbread - more like a pancake. Pretty good, but it didn’t pair well with the rest of the meal. The fried oyster app was very good. Had an extra app of fried calamari - great sauces, calamari a little rubbery, could have been crisper. The ribeye steaks were cooked just right, roasted potatoes nice and hot but not real flavorful. The chocolate mousse was delicious. The ambience here is very nice, but - the chairs were the worst we’ve ever sat on at an upscale restaurant - basically folding chairs with a hard wooden seat. After a three course meal they were quite uncomfortable. The service was good and our server was pleasant, but rather forgetful. We usually have about half our meal left to take home. The server boxed it up but forgot to bring it to us. As we walked out the door we realized this and went back in for it. Our server brought it from the kitchen, but when we got home there was only one meal in the bag! We called to ask about it, but when we talked to a manager he said she insisted she’d put both meals in the same box. Kind of implied we hadn’t looked in the bag well. Well, she hadn’t put one in and we said so. The manager then kindly offered us a $50 gift card for the mistake. We said we’d just rather have our take home meal. But he said it had been thrown away. So we said we’d take the gift card and just get a carry out steak to replace that one. One other thing - don’t know if this was due to the server or someone else, but our bill with meals and drinks should have been about $350. But when she brought the check it was for $86! We kindly pointed this out, and she was appalled and very glad we did. This was our first time at Porter’s. Good, but not great. Possibility try it again.

   Although we had to have Valentines dinner at 3pm due to no reservations at 5-8pm, it still went extremely well. Staff was great, food was excellent!

   The service was good but at a very slow pace. The restaurant was cold (uncomfortable) while very warm outside for a February night. Overall the food was good, but we found ourselves waiting for our food to come out between courses and no one refilled our drinks.

    We ordered the pork chops with mac and cheese and Brussels sprouts. The Mac and cheese was not hot (tepid at best) so I sent it back. It came back out slightly warm. The pork chop was tough
