Experience dining approximately 30 feet below ground in historic caverns that were hand built in the 1800's. Accidentally discovered in 2018 during the building of our parent restaurant, Hudson and Essex, we have refurbished the caverns once used to store beer before air conditioning into a one of a kind dining experience. Every Friday and Saturday night we provide an 8 course dinner with wine pairings from our home winery ( Cypress Hill Winery ) using wines made with California grapes. Prepaid reservation only. Also available to book out for events.

What a great experience. This place is one for the "return-to" books. Service was excellent, the food was super intriguing and delightful and something to be experienced. All staff were super helpful and knowledgeable about all the handcrafted dishes and the wines. Being 30 feet below street level was really neat and NO ONE was on their phone because signal was ZERO. That itself makes for a great setting. Since it was a small sized customer group, staggered reservation times, the noise level was perfect. See you again soon.

I understand that the scoring may not align with your expectations for this dining experience. While several aspects were executed well, including the pleasant seating arrangement and attentive staff, the overall meal did not meet the anticipated level of excitement for its price point. The experience lacked the "wow" factor you may have been hoping for, and I also feel the portion sizes could have been slightly more generous. On a positive note, the staff was exceptional, and it was a nice touch to see the owner personally engage with guests at each table. However, to be completely honest, given the cost, I would hesitate to recommend this establishment.

I wanted something special/different than our usual dinners out. This definitely delivered. Loved that we had no cell service so there’s no temptation for the mindless phone scrolling. We truly enjoyed our time and experience and the owners coming around was a true treat. You can tell they are passionate about their caverns and it is evident in the experience. Only recommendation we had was for the personalized menus to have the background of the caverns on the back of the menu for guest to read while waiting and an added treasure to keep.

If you are looking for a unique dining experience, this is it. Located underground, the caverns are stone lined and date to the 1800s. Service was outstanding. Food and wine pairings were very good. Friendly and attentive staff. Since the venue is underground, it can get cool. Recommend wearing layered clothing. Also, can get noisy at times.

Amazing destination experience! Highly recommended! Everything was on point and what one would expect for that price point. I am usually a came saw, conquered type when it comes to dining experiences, though would definitely consider going back to try a different menu. The oyster course was the only thing we didn’t care for. The oyster was still attached to the shell, and the topping was very oniony, overpowering the oyster completely. The elk dish was to die for, and could have asked seconds or thirds. Really interesting cavern and story. Staff was very practiced, and delightful.

We celebrated our anniversary and it was such a great experience. Very unique. I’m not a huge wine drinker so I loved that they paired the wine to each course, however I would probably skip that if I were to do it again. I did however buy a bottle from course number 2. The food was great. The menu said it was going to be elk tenderloin and they made a mistake and we ended up with a beef tenderloin and an elk burger. I was kind of disappointed since I wanted to try the elk and I’ve great filets many places. They did give us a small gift to celebrate our anniversary. Overall experience was great. I was very nervous when they said to dress in layers (since I’m always cold) the temperature was actually quite comfortable. The owner comes by the tables to give some background about how it came to be. Very friendly and made the experience better
