Punta Corcho takes its name from the old title of what we now know as Puerto Morelos, in the Riviera Maya. Founded in 2015 by chef Daniel Ovadía, it became his first project in the region, bringing a passion for fresh and creative cuisine that pays homage to the culinary richness of the Caribbean.
The menu offers a vibrant reinterpretation of seafood flavors, highlighted by the use of artisanal methods that add a unique smoky touch to each dish. This is a very good restaurant employing significant skill in the kitchen. It was relatively expensive, comparable to Los Angeles prices. We enjoyed our meal and hanging out in their eclectic upstairs dining room. My companion raved about the soft shell crab tacos and would return just for those. We both had red snapper over crisped onions with sweet potato cake. Quite good but not Michelin good! Fresh large prawns butterflied and served with hollandaise was a large appetizer served over a crispy seaweed like greens was special. Given limited choices in Puerto Morales, this is a solid choice for a foodie.

It’s phenomenal!!!! There are a lot of good restaurants in Puerto Morelos, but Punta Corcho has a little extra. The chefs are so obviously passionate about their work which you realize after the first bite! If you haven’t been here before, trust me!!!! You have to go. If you have been there, then you know exactly what I’m talking about!

It was a great evening to watch the sunset and enjoy amazing seafood and drinks. Being able to enjoy the breeze coming through the open air windows was so nice. The catch of the day was a whole red snapper that was cooked to perfection. The bone marrow appetizer was also amazing with the fresh bread. All of the food was prepared well. We will definitely be going back next time we visit the area.

Don’t know how it got a Michelin recommendation. Food was bland. Potatoes undercooked. Guacamole had no taste. Margaritas were ok. Over priced! Tried it last June with an awful experience. Thought we would try again nothing changed. Save your money

Excelente sitio. Comida Del Mar con uso de especias bien equilibradas y los platillos con sabor ahumado, bebidas con creaciones únicas y alguna hasta ahumadas. Atención de primera. Buena vista. ambiente fresco natural. Lastima que es pequeño el lugar. 1000% recomendable.

A wonderful view from there! I forget the name of the ‘tiny fishes’ appetizer…fantastic as was the fish fillet. Margaritas well made. Will be back for sure.
