About this restaurant

  • Charming
  • Great for brunch
  • Neighborhood gem
We are a New Zealand inspired whimsical restaurant set in a craftsman house that dates back to 1905. We are one block off the main drag in Little Italy. Sink your teeth into one of our organic beef or lamb burgers. We also have many salads and dinner entrees to try. Portions are generous, and prices are reasonable.

Date night with my wife on Mother's Day. We ate outdoors. Service was distracted - staff was pleasant but simple things, like delivering our drinks, took a long time. Table & chairs were screwed down to the patio and could not be moved, even though they were too far apart. Music was intrusively loud outside, even after they turned it down (slightly) on request. We both ordered lamb skewers, medium rare, and asked that they NOT be overdone. What was delivered had hard crust on the outside and was well done on the inside. When we had them re-fired, large parts were very rare. On the positive side: The hummus was really excellent; the naan was fresh, and the Persian cukes were super. So were the cherry tomatoes on the otherwise poor skewers. Beer & wine were good, and the Cabernet was actually served at cellar temp.

The restaurant is adorable and decorated really cute. The food was great, but our service wasn't the best. Our server wasn't very friendly. However, everyone else we encountered that worked there was very nice. I only gave a lower review because of our server. Everything else was good!

Quaint and cute restaurant tucked away from little Italy. Our initial server was ok and left abruptly mid service …. Our new server was much better and more personable. The food itself was delicious … the brunch menu is original and different and love all the various options!! Will be back for sure

Food was absolutely amazing 10/10, and the actual restaurant is very cool but we felt rushed during our time there. Our waiter wanted to take our food order before we even got our drinks and then the food came out in less than 10 minutes. Before our drinks were done the bill was brought out and when paying, the waiter selected the tip for me and then just pointed the machine at me and told me to sign…

I had a brunch reservation for a gorgeous Sunday in San Diego. The Bellini and Breakfast Fried Rice were delicious. Customer service was superb.

This place is super cute and the food was delicious! They have specials on regular mimosas during Saturday brunch which was nice. I had the BLT with egg sandwich and grits and it was so good! And so big! I had dinner with it later that same day. Loved it!

I want to start this review by saying I dislike giving bad reviews. I met my girlfriend at for brunch, it was her first time. I love the food at Queens town and duinden the sister restaurant. Our waiter Dan came up to our table, he look so annoyed and grumpy. My friend asked for a coffee, after 8 min he brought her coffee and walked away. The coffee had a bunch of coffee grounds in the coffee, very noticeable. Dan passed by and she asked him if she can have another coffee without coffee grounds. Dan took the coffee with out a word. He came back with coffee and creamer. My friend asked him for a spoon, he say Ya and rolled his eyes. Holy Cow this guy was so rude. I told my girlfriend that I wasn’t going to start my Sunday with this kind of experience. We asked the manager and told him we were leaving. We told what happened and he offered to move us but we just got up and left. Honestly If you are having a bad day, don’t project it onto others.

Hi Claudia, We greatly apologize for any uninviting expressions or remarks you had experienced this past weekend. That is not the environment we try to cultivate here at Queenstown. We understand the manager tried to offer you a new table but your mood was ruined. We completely understand the sentiment of the day, but we would love to extend an invite back for you. If you're open to it, please respond here privately and we will get your information and get a reservation set up for you. Again we apologize for the experience the other day. Kia Ora

It’s such a cute place, with several areas for seating. We sat inside in the front part of the house, and were able to converse at a normal level. Also, the service was friendly, and the food was hearty. Overall, a great place for catching up with good friends, etc.

Hi John, Thank you for the kind review. We are glad you and your party enjoyed our "Front Yard" catching up with each other like it was your own yard. We hope to see you again. Kia Ora

Took my family for an early Sunday dinner. The food was delicious and the service was great. My MIL took plenty of photos with the great decor. The cookie dessert was delicious!
