Ramen-san is a bold and energetic neighborhood joint that slings hot noodles, ice-cold beer and rare expressions of Japanese whisky all to the tune of the best ’90s hip-hop in town. It respects the traditions but keep things uniquely untraditional in its yuzu sake bombs, crispy dumplings, spicy kimchi fried ramen and more. Food was fantastic and while the drink was unimpressive, the service was poor. It took at least 10 minutes for a server to greet us, and only interacted with us a few times. After we ordered our dessert, we waited about 25-30 minutes for it to arrive, and she never came back after we ordered it. We had to pay via the app as she never came back with our check, or even to check how our dessert was. I was very satisfied with the quality of the food but very disappointed by the service.

The ramen & salad were good. The server was outstanding, kind, & ensured that my items were celiac-friendly. However, the volume of the music (lunch during the week) was so loud that it was a struggle to have a conversation! This trend in restaurants is exasperating. I would not recommend due to deafening audio.

We always come to Ramen-San when we visit Chicago, and we think about it all the time when we aren’t in Chicago. We’ve literally driven 4 hours to eat Ramen-San for my birthday and turn around and go back we love it so much.

Our reservation was at 815 and we didn't get a table until 910. Not a problem waiting, it was really busy. They took care of us by offering free appetizers which was really nice of them. Service was amazing. Ramen wasn't just ok.

They overbooked the restaurant we had to wait longer than our reservation time almost 30 minutes. many people were complaining about the wait. the food was good, but it is so busy, food came out pretty fast tho. They wanted you in and out of the restaurant was what it was giving.
