   We had a delightful evening at Rangoon, celebrating two birthdays with a perfect meal. Every dish was “the special one,” and the service was magical, appearing just as it was being thought of. As we were leaving, our guests were planning their own next visit. Ideal!

   Poor service. I almost don’t want to give any tips. Food was ok, it was way better before. I don’t think I would recommend this place if they don’t change their service.

   We had passed this restaurant many times before deciding to finally try it. Walked in and we felt instantly transported to southeast Asia; the decor was colorful and gorgeous. I wanted to take some of the art home. We ordered the fried rice, samusas, mahimahi curry and the pork belly stir fry. Our biggest food gripe was that both the mahimahi in the curry and the pork belly were annihilated beyond recognition: so tough that for dessert I had dental floss. Other than that and the somewhat slow service, this place was a winner. The smells and scents of the dishes were intoxicating and the atmosphere authentic, and made the night one to remember.

   Mains came out before the appetizer, one of our party’s food came out 20 minutes after the last dish was dropped off and arrived cold (and took asking about it for it to come), my drink didn’t come till my main arrived, we were not checked on. One of our dishes tofu was extremely hard, but other dishes were quite good. Overall, poor service and the kitchen seemed very discombobulated.

   The PLATHA & CURRY DIP Multi-layer bread served with coconut vegetable curry for $15 was our favorite. The short walk from the wonderful Downtown Art Center (downtownart.center) will make this a regular stop after DAC events!

   Food is good. Service is good although when the restaurant got really busy the service took a bit longer. We have been there twice recently and look forward to returning.

   Food came at all different times. Wine we ordered was unavailable and we had to upgrade. They were out of prawns which was disappointing. One dish was really hot and spicy. The leftovers were delicious for lunch.

    Food tasty. Service initially was attentive but when the restaurant got busy, less so. We ordered five dishes and the fifth one arrived after we had eaten all the others, and we would have preferred to cancel it at that point.
