   We go to Ray's for special occasions (anniversaries, birthdays, etc.). It is well located and well run. There is an excellent menu of meats and seafood specialties.

   It was a late afternoon dining, our server was exceptional, food was very good, BUT, my steak was not cooked right, RARE & charred, my husband had ordered a Pittsburg Char & rare his was not….they recooked my steak only to come back rare, after my husband needed to eat his dinner….some sort of compensation should have been offered, unfortunate experience this visit.

   My experience there is always great but last night was amazing with the ambience and the table we were sitting at was so romantic. Our server was amazing and thoughtful and very attentive.

   David, our lead server, and Justin were most amazing! He is so knowledgeable and kind, friendly and personable. The food was very nice too. The ambiance is always spot-on!

   First and foremost: This is one of the premier restaurants in the Atlanta area and I have been many times and plan to be back. Other restaurants should take lessons from management on how they train their waitstaff, which is way above average and/or they're just really good at finding really good people! This time a few things went wrong. The restaurant did everything they could to make up for it and would have gotten 5 stars except we were told we would not be charged for an entree that came out badly and we didn't notice until after we had added extra tip and left that we were charged for the dish after all. Everything else about the food and service was above and beyond. A couple of notes: We made a reservation for 3:45PM on a weekend, the last option for the lunch menu. They close at 4PM. I would suggest to the restaurant to just not offer that time slot. The lights went out right at 4 (I assume they're on a timer) and it was hard to see and it took 15 minutes or so to get them back on. Sadly there was something was wrong with my food and they kindly took it back. I said I didn't want another dish, especially since I knew the kitchen was closed, but our amazing wait person insisted. Sadly, everyone was done eating and had been done for quite a while by the time my food came back out. We happened to be there this time to celebrate a birthday. And they brought lots of goodies for us....going above and beyond to make our time special. Thank you to Tangie. Except for not taking the item off the bill as promised, everything else about the service and food was above and beyond! As always, we'll be back!
