August is a Contemporary Creole restaurant creating unique dishes with a focus on Louisiana ingredients and inspired by classical training. Located in a historic 19th century French-Creole building in New Orleans’ Central Business District, the main dining room caters to the most unique dining experience. The interior is rich with original architectural details, gleaming hardwood floors, soaring columns, mahogany paneling and antique mirrors.

From the OpenTable editors: August remains the flagship restaurant within the BRG Hospitality group, and it’s a grande dame dining room of New Orleans. The building rose tall in the 1830s, and the elegant space features mahogany panels and antique mirrors. The modern Creole menu offers a chef’s tasting in seven courses, from red snapper crudo to lavender panna cotta. The team also has a reputation for impeccable service, earning a couple of James Beard nominations in the past decade.

    Decided to take advantage of your Friday lunch experience. EVERYTHING was great! The staff, feeling special, the spritzes, the first and second courses, the desserts, the ambiance BUT, whoa a big BUT, we thought….what? I felt like a 12 year old slow dancing in a circle, What kind of whack a doodle 70s music was that? After a few songs we just started laughing every song. Instrumental soft jazz is more appropriate for this experience, not yatrock. geez.

    We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at August, from appetizers to mains to dessert, everything had something special about it. The servers took good care of us throughout, with excellent pacing and just the right amount of attention. This was our favorite stop on a few days of fine dining in the French Quarter. (But it's not really in the Quarter.) August deserves a repeat visit.

    My friend and I dined here after fest. The experience was fabulous. Ben and Felicia were our servers, excellent service. The food was wonderful, and the amuse bouche was customized for my friend as she is a pescatarian. Will return
