August is a Contemporary Creole restaurant creating unique dishes with a focus on Louisiana ingredients and inspired by classical training. Located in a historic 19th century French-Creole building in New Orleans’ Central Business District, the main dining room caters to the most unique dining experience. The interior is rich with original architectural details, gleaming hardwood floors, soaring columns, mahogany paneling and antique mirrors.

    From the moment we entered the restaurant every action was first class. The front reception greeted us with a smile and our host brought us to our table. The service was extraordinary and the food was first class. If you are in New Orleans you should make a dinner at Restaurant August one of your definite destinations.

    Outstanding meal! We did the chef’s tasting menu and it was perfect. Among many standouts were the blue crab tartlet and the duck pithivier—best presentation of duck I’ve had. The space itself is lovely — wood paneling, crisp linens, chandeliers.

    Honestly food and our server (Matt) were great, no complaints. Your front of house (older women win tattoos on her hands) was incredibly judgmental and looked us up and down and gave us a dirty look that both my wife and I clocked and it made her feel especially uncomfortable. We were not dressed in a suit and cocktail dress, just normalish clothes. We had indicated it was our aniversary and she started the night off horribly and it it put a dampner on what otherwise was a nice service. It took Matt noticing that we were exhanging anniversary cards to say something nice and congratulate us. I’d like to reiterate that Matt was excellent. Its just a shame that a judgmental attitude from your staff set such a horrendous tone and ruined the hard work of the rest of your staff. We’ve eaten at plenty of fine dining establishments in New York, London, Sydney and Paris and one of the hallmarks of each is that the servers are incredibly welcoming.

    Another outstanding visit to August! We had trouble deciding which dish was the best but crawfish pasta may have been the best BUT the chocolate dessert was unbelievably delicious.
