The restaurant was beautifully decorated and the energy felt warm and inviting. Each staff member we encountered was incredibly attentive and courteous. The meat eaters at our table enjoyed their meal, though not overwhelmed. As the only vegan, my options were slim, which I knew going in. Typically, however, chefs at nicer restaurants will put together a dish of sides or create something with what they have on hand. There was no option like that offered. Most of the salads had some form of cheese, egg or anchovy. I decided on the grilled shrimp and vegetable salad, minus the shrimp. There was absolutely no flavor, minus the charring from the oven and the dish was missing an ingredient that was listed on the menu which might have added a more interesting texture. It's a shame that the restaurant hasn't, from a culinary standpoint, tapped into the creativity for which the design aspects of RH is known for, to offer something of interest for plant-based folks.

Overall the only reason to go to RH is for the roof top ambience. The value is low with food prices that are out of line for the dishes served and average food quality. Much better places in North Hills to dine. If you want to experience the rooftop at RH then go for an expensive cup of coffee or glass of wine and skip the meal. My wife and I arrived early for the lunch reservation and were told to wait until our reservation time even though they were seating others and they had fewer than 4 tables seated. We went to RH to enjoy the roof top view and were seated by the hostess stand away from the view, with plenty of open tables available with nice views. Servers were slow to arrive at our table. You will have to ask for tap water otherwise you are charged $9 for “still” or “sparkling” water. I ordered the roast chicken club with avocado for $33 and $10 additional for a side of sweet potato fries. My wife ordered a Caesar salad with salmon for $36. The portion for the chicken club was meager and the fries were not warm. The chicken was well cooked but had no flavor. My wife’s salad was dry with an abundance of croutons but little else. The salmon was well prepared. The bill with tip was over $110. As previously stated, much better places in North Hills and Raleigh to spend less money, get better food, and a better overall experience.

Great atmosphere, beautiful setting, a little chilly from where we were seated. I loved that everyone worked together. Because once we placed our order with the server, we saw less of her. Our food courses were brought out by other team members, including the wine that we had to order from someone else . My entree was delicious, I had the salmon, nice portion, a little sweet, the arugula helped cut the sweetness. I paired it with broccolini. In closing, we had the house-made chocolate chip cookies, which were delicious, but took 15 minutes to receive. Needless to say, it was recognized and removed from the final bill.

Was so excited to try the new RH rooftop. Walked in a the aesthetics and ambience are breathtaking… unfortunately that’s aging the extent of what they have to offer in the experience. I ordered the crispy artichokes, truffle fries, and “ribeye”. I use quotes for ribeye because I’m pretty sure that was a $10 food lion flank steak not a ribeye. We saw a server maybe twice the entire night. Our glasses sat empty despite us wanting a second round of wine. My recommendation is go and get a glass of wine and sit on the patio and then eat dinner somewhere else.

We understand this location is very new so we expected some glitches. First, the place is beautiful and elegant. We arrived for our reservation early. Even though the place was almost empty, we were told we would have to wait for the time of our reservation. It was strange that they wouldn’t seats but the patio is nice and we didn’t mind. The server was on loan from another location to train staff. She was officious and not gracious at all. She was borderline hostile when we gently pointed out she messed up part of our order. The food came slowly and not together. And it was Ok. Not great. Not terrible. Just ok. The prices are very high for the quality. It’s a lot of window dressing but very little substance. On a positive note, the GM seemed to realize things were amiss and he was extremely gracious and accommodating—but this was after the bad experience. In my view they have a long way to go to retrain staff. It’s a shame such an elegant place failed in its delivery.

It is a BEAUTIFUL restaurant and the ambiance is glorious, but the food is not worth the price. It would be fine for lunch if you want a nice backdrop and convenient location for a day or shopping, but the value isn’t there for dinner (especially if you’re getting a glass of wine). They also don’t serve cocktails, so be aware of that. It’s certainly a place to go once to see the beauty of it, but not a place to become a regular at.
