About this restaurant

  • Good for special occasions
  • Charming
  • Good for groups
Riccardo started his career at a very young age in Milan's prestigious GIRARROSTO which was family owned. Then, in 1982 he moved to the United States and he opened the famous Sonny Bono's in Los Angeles. In 1987 he started to work with his cousin Roberto Ruggeri (owner of Bice Ventures), with him he opened Bice New York, Los Angeles and many others around the world.

Here through the craftsmanship of an Italian food connoisseur, dishes are prepared with an almost zen-like essentiality that has shaped Riccardo's professional and existential life course.

In addition to its exceptional cuisine, Riccardo Osteria has a wonderful selection of wines to complement our dishes perfectly. Come join us at the Bar for a meal or just a glass of wine.

Highlights of the menu include Chicken Parmigiana, Mixed Grilled Seafood Plater, Bucatini Carbonara, Linguini Vongole, assorted Risotto and Veal Scallopine, and for dessert Classic Tiramisu

Review summary

AI-generated from verified diner reviews
Riccardo Osteria offers a cozy, "home-like" atmosphere with a "great Italian wine selection" and "super consistent" food. While recent experiences have varied, standout dishes include the carbonara and Asiago gnocchi, with the "vodka gnocchi" craftily made upon request. Though service experiences differ, many appreciate the "very welcoming" staff.

Nice evening, the food was good, especially the pear pie. Our waitress was pleasant and made sure everything was fine in a discreet way, which we appreciated.

10/10 would recommend. One of the best Carbonara dishes I have ever had.

This was our 4th or 5th time dining at Ricardo Osteria. It's always been a wonderful experience, that is before this time. This time the veal meatballs tasted like they were made with Italian sausage not veal and riccota and the pastas were what you would expect from a decent Italian restaurant not a great one. In the past they were always top level. Even the Pear Tart was not what we remembered. Won't be going back for some time.

As someone who has dined across the globe and experienced everything from 3-star Michelin temples to humble street food gems, Riccardo’s has long held a soft spot in my heart. Unfortunately, my recent visit left me disappointed in a way I didn’t expect. From the start, it was clear our server was new. He was visibly nervous, unfamiliar with the menu, and fumbled through the basics. And while I’ve got nothing but empathy for someone learning the ropes (he was kind, courteous, and trying his best), what was truly disheartening was how little support he received. When he sought guidance, the manager—who should have led with poise and patience—was shockingly dismissive and rude. Watching a team member get belittled in front of guests is not only unprofessional, it’s simply unacceptable. To make matters worse, I requested a big ice cube in my cocktail—a simple touch that elevates a drink and keeps it from diluting too quickly. The server, trying to accommodate, assured me they had them. Turns out, they didn’t. The drink sat, watered down and forgotten. When I politely asked for a new one, the manager’s response was abrasive enough to make me lose my appetite entirely. I’ve dined at Riccardo’s many times over the years, always appreciating the ambiance, the cuisine, and the consistency. But hospitality is the soul of any great restaurant, and what I witnessed from the management that night completely broke that trust. It’s rare that one person can make me reconsider a place I’ve returned to time and again—but in this case, it might make me reconsider.

Simply the best. Feels like home. My family goes to Riccardo’s almost every Saturday night for family dinner. The food is super consistent, reasonably priced and excellent very welcoming service. Also, their fresh product is high quality (whether from tomatoes to cheeses to greens to asparagus). It’s such a cozy spot. Plus their Italian wine selection is great. Good spectrum of choices and affordable. Highly highly recommended!!

We were asked to leave our table right after paying the bill due to others waiting for tables. 25% of the tables were open in the restaurant and there was no one waiting.

Disappointing food. Not the same as our last visit. Why are french fries the included side for Italian dishes? Why do entries not come with some garnish, like a few veggies? A very stark presentation. Why are common items like lasagna or a seafood pasta not offered? Food just seemed more like something you would see at a chain restaurant.

My experience was fantastic. This was my third time visiting this restaurant and I came back for the vodka gnocchi. Unfortunately, it was not on the menu. When it came time to ordering, I had briefly mentioned that I really enjoyed the vodka gnocchi and that is when the waiter offered to have the chef make it for me. Additionally, they were very attentive in refilling my water, the table bread, which is complimentary, was phenomenal, and overall, it was just a very nice dining experience. I will definitely be back.
