Had a fun afternoon brunch with friends. Service was a little slow to start but overall was fine. Our server was friendly and gave good recommendations. This was a more laid back Rosa Mex and it had a cozier vibe than the one at Lincoln Center.

Rosa Mexicano is a favorite of mine and always at this Midtown location. The staff is friendly and attentive and the food and drinks are really delish. It's a great value especially on Tuesdays as they have "Taco Tuesday" so all of their taco selections are 1/2 price! Have tacos as your main meal, add a pomegranate frozen margarita and shrimp diablo as an appetizer and you are all set for a yummy meal at a very affordable evening.

My friend and I split two apps and had one drink each. The waiters could not wait to rush us out of the restaurant. The waiter we had was unenthusiastic and bothered. It was margarita Monday and we asked if all margaritas were included and she looked at us like we were stupid. The waiter took my plate while I was still eating off it, she never asked if we wanted another drink/round, and rudely brought us over the check once it hit 90 mins without us asking. (No 90 min rule was ever disclosed to us, nor was it written on the menu or table or anywhere for that matter). The place was not busy and there were PLENTY of open tables. We took 20 mins to pay because we were talking and were very offended by the restaurant’s rudeness. The wait staff kept coming over, making us feel uncomfortable, and we’re talking and Pointing at us to one another. We don’t know why we were rushed out and why the staff was being so strange and bothered? It was only 6 pm and the place had many open tables. We had one drinks each. Needless to say we will not be back. We felt extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome. Which is a pity because the margarita was good and we would have loved to make this place a regular spot. Highly do NOT recommended based on the atmosphere and staff.

Our memory of better days at Rosa Mexicano were violated by an extremely mediocre and disappointing experience. Despite having a reservation, we were seated in the bar area and our sever was also the bar tender. He was a good when we saw him, which was not often. The bigger issue was the poor timing of the food and drinks. Our drinks came well after appetizers and the main meal came out minutes after appetizers. One of our orders was forgotten and came out when everyone was finished eating so we sent it back. It was very expensive relative to the quality and taste, which was a shell of its former past.

The back room was not well ventilated. The second we entered we knew all our clothes would need to be cleaned because of the fried oil filled air.

As Brits we don’t eat out at Mexican restaurants often. We loved the freshly made guacamole and the half price tacos for Taco Tuesday made it good value. Recommend
