   My friend had to send her pie back as it wasn’t cooked the pastry looked raw and her husband had the beef which was very fatty & chewy. My friend got a free drink. Would we return not really.

   Loved the new menu. Staff brilliant as always. We had chicken, gammon and pie. All were delicious. Best homemade chips in the business. Sticky toffee pud and coconut ice cream was had by all, divine. We shall return again soon.

   Nice experience. Booked the Mothers day 5 course special. Service was friendly, but as they were busy you could tell the attention to detail and service level wasn't quite there. For instance, some of the roast vegatables were hard/undercooked, and we had to keep going to the bar as drinks orders weren't arriving. That said I would still recommend - just a shame there were such simple mistakes. All the staff were lovely though and the food was tasty. Nice surroundings too.

   The food was excellent with decent menu choice. Excellent jazz trio, very good entertainment, a bit of a hidden gem.

    Lovely traditional pub in centre of york. We had a delicious Sunday roast with all the trimmings only negative i can think of is despite there being a good selection of vegetables the portion could of been bigger. The staff were very friendly & attentive throughout Really enjoyed our visit here good value for money, would definitely reccomend.
