For ninety-eight years, New York's defining cultural moments have taken place at Russian Tea Room. Ever since members of the Russian Imperial Ballet founded the restaurant in 1926, it has been a second home for boldface names and the intellectual elite-an exclusive enclave where actors, writers, politicians, and businessmen planned their next deals and feted their friends' latest Carnegie Hall performances.

A beautiful place with a rich history in the world of ballet. But, the service was not good. I did not appreciate when the server served our entree and immediately put our desserts on our table. At first i didn't want to make a fuss but then I thought "wait " Bake Alaska has ice cream, so that was the reason I use to have the server take back the desserts and serve them after our entree. He did do it but disagreed with me saying it was not ice cream.

I had the Restaurant Week menu, it was good. I was surprised I had to ask to see it, that I was not automatically provided with it. When I inquired, I was then provided with the special Caviar menu, so that seemed a little odd to me. The Scallops appetizer was very nice, very top Chef. The Beef Stroganoff was good, maybe not quite as interesting as the Scallops.

Absolutely fantastic, thought this might be more of a tourist trap but did not feel that way. Food was excellent, ambience AMAZING, take time to look at the original art on the walls including some early Chagall paintings.

a wonderful dining experience and during Restaurant Week an incredible value. The service was attentive, friendly and nonintrusive. And, of course, Carnegie Hall is only a few steps away.

Great fun to have a meal at this iconic restaurant! The decor is stunning. And the maitre’d was charming, taking time to greet us and to identify some of the wonderful paintings that cover the walls. Oh, and the food was good too. 😁

Overall an underwhelming food experience for afternoon tea. The sandwiches were so so, the sweets and scones were actually not good. The scones were dry and the sweets just all sugar - no flavor. Would not recommend afternoon tea.
