About this restaurant

  • Charming
  • Good for special occasions
  • Good for groups
Salt Yard is an award-winning charcuterie bar and restaurant serving modern tapas inspired by the flavours and produce of Spain and Italy.

The tapas are complemented by charcuterie and cheese boards and we have a wide selection of excellent wines and sherries. Flexibility is key to Salt Yard. Customers can enjoy a full spread of tapas: or come in simply for a glass of red wine and a plate of cheese, a coffee and a delicious pudding, or even just a perfect martini and a handful of Marcona almonds.

Located in central London – a two minute walk from Goodge St tube station and a five minute walk from Oxford Circus – we are perfectly placed for a business lunch, a pre-theatre meal or a night out with friends.

Really disappointing, definitely gone downhill, despite booking well in advance was given a table downstairs small, hot cramped, they are just trying to ram in many as people as possible - service was average, food was ok but coming out slow so by the time it got to us you could tell it had been sitting on the pass for a while- plus the kitchen was right next to the toilet with door wide open, so was walking past people’s plates of food as I went for a wee - not great wouldn’t go again

The Salt Yard continues to be one of the best casual dining venues in London. The food is simply fantastic - in every dish, there is so much going on, so many different flavours (the arancino was a particular favourite). The menu is tweaked seasonally, around four times a year, and every change is an interesting one. The service is always excellent - speedy, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. We were seated at the bar which is a perfectly fine option. It’s a personal favourite and I will return time and again. Huge praise to all involved.

Wasn’t too happy in this occasion. Was an empty restaurant but getting service proved difficult and felt like I was taking up their time. Food was standard quality. Cod was good but the other plates lacked standard. My friend had the meat dish and he didn’t like it. Sister restaurant Dehesa is better for food and service in my opinion.

Great food and service- unfortunately we were put downstairs next to a very large loud work group which ruined the ambiance

Our waiter was slow and overwhelmed. We were a party of 10 so I can sort of understand but it was an unfortunate experience. Food was good overall.

They seemed more keen to repeatedly remind us that they needed the table back at 7.30 despite the restaurant being half empty we had already had 2 reminders before 7pm. Food was nice but fairly pricey for what is basically tapas. My companions got fed up and we went elsewhere for coffee
