At Sarto, we believe that poring over the details is always worth it; and that the joys of a meal go far beyond the food itself. In keeping with Italy’s authentic, old-world traditions, we’ve approached our menu in much the same way an Italian chef opening a restaurant here in America might ── with dishes composed of fresh, locally sourced ingredients, that honor our region in a modern way.

Prepared from an open concept kitchen, our menu features modern Italian fare made with the freshest local ingredients Rhode Island has to offer, complimented by award – winning wines and a carefully curated cocktail program.

Sarto is located just moments from local performing arts and convention centers in the historic Teste brownstone building. Originally built in 1860, our restaurant was once home to an apothecary, a money-to-loan business and later the Philip Wolfe Haberdasher, which inspired the name Sarto or tailor in Italian.

“Jazz It Up” with dinner, drinks and live music at the Sarto, as local trios perform hot Jazz from 8-11pm weekly on Saturdays. Out with a group? Perfect! Plan ahead and make online reservations for table service for you and your friends, so everyone has a seat during Jazz it up with Sarto! Heading to a show downtown? Be sure to stop by Sarto after the show and enjoy music, dessert or bar snacks and a late-night libation. As a proud supporter of local student musicians, Sarto will be booking college jazz groups to perform in the monthly calendar rotation. Are you a college student in a jazz group? Literary Experiences with Sarto

Sarto embraces the idea of coming together in person for special experiences, and the restaurant’s new Literary Experiences are perfect for getting your book club members together for an evening of cocktails and discussion after each read. Enjoy ordering off of Sarto’s food and drinks menus while you and your group discuss your most recent read. Accommodating book clubs from 6-15 guests, the restaurant has a number of tables perfect for groups, so everyone can be set together. If you let the restaurant know what book you’re reading Sarto will name one of it’s specialty cocktails after the book your reading that night! Experience available on Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday evenings. Complimentary valet parking for all guests!

Great server- extremely knowledgeable and supportive with perfect attentiveness. Food was very good- portions were a bit small for the price- but delicious. We sat upstairs which had excellent ambiance. There were a few groups of patrons downstairs and they were very loud and the noise did carry to the upstairs impacting our ability to have nice conversation. Fully recommend this restaurant

We arrived 15 minutes late for our reservation due to traffic. Our server went out of his way to make sure we still made the 7:30 show at PPAC. Sarto is our favorite restaurant in Providence!

Service was impeccable, food was amazing, drinks were perfect. First time at Jazz Night, would definitely recommend it! Abby G was a friendly and attentive server, would ask for her again!

The food was excellent. A definite go to again! We shared two meals, the oxtail Ragu was outstanding and the porchetta was delicious I wish I didn't have to give half of it away. The only minor issue I ha was the swiss chard had a touch too much vinegar but I understand using the acid to cut throught the fatty richness of the prochetta. It was just a touch too much for me. The brown butter cake was also quite delicious with the candied pistachios a nice complement. When I go back it might be tough for me to pick different meals but there are so many great things on the menu.

Took the family for my wife's birthday. It is a very lively atmosphere, but not too loud for conversation. Service stays on point and they clearly want to make sure that you leave satisfied. We'll be going back! BTW... parking garage next door handles Sarto's valet parking. I missed this and ended up paying for parking at a nearby lot.

@sartoprovidence was so good! I loved the low lit atmosphere. - A delicious dirty martini 🍸 - Chocolate cake & gelato - Cold grilled calamari (so good) - Carbonara fries 🍟 - Charcuterie - Porchetta: could have been better, I asked for more sauce

The grilled calamari was extremely delicious & very creative. Love it! Our others dishes, the seared Halibut & the pasta with the mussels were delicious as well & the perfect portions. Our waiter was very friendly, attentive & was nice enough to offer samples of two red wines he recommended that were similar to Pinot Noir which wasn’t on the menu. We enjoyed one of the recommended red wines. We were very impressed with the manager greeting us after we finished our dishes & was kind enough to offer us free dessert. We had a great experience & will definitely return to enjoy the live Jazz they have on Saturday nights.
