   I went with my wife as a last week (May 25) and it exceeded our hopes in every way. The whole 'experience', from the entranceway through each room and even the toilets, was memorable. It is clean to a high standard and presented immaculately. The food is amazing but it is the staff that make it top notch.

   I liked the atmosphere - low lights in kind of a low key swanky establishment feel. The food was superb. I ordered fish and prawns with bouillabaisse and it was plenty for me. Another male reviewer felt it wasn’t enough. I savored every delicious bite of it, The Bibb lettuce salad was tasty. I had a 25 pound glass of red wine and it was quite good. For desert I had the great sticky toffee pudding with ice cream. I’ve been traveling solo and was looking at my cell phone. Apparently my server thought that meant Do Not Ask Diner how the food was, or would you like me to pour you more wine or refill your water glass. I didn’t hear from him once. I spoke with management. Then I spoke to my server and told him no reasonable person would object to you coming by and saying “I hope I’m not disturbing you, but how is your food? “Would you like more wine or water? He said he’d been watching me all evening, but that meant nothing. He said he gained a new perspective. After my complaint the manager was very attentive and comped me the desert. It was satisfactory resolution.

   When we booked a stay at The Savoy Hotel, to eat at the Grill was a must for us. However I think the only word that describes our experience is “underwhelming “. All staff were lovely, BUT, we waited an hour for our main course, the ribeye steak arrived, chips and sauce we lovely, the steak however….not the tender experience I was expecting and very grisly! Probably should have sent it back to be honest. Had better steaks at our local Beefeater. So sorry but far too expensive for what was on offer, I class it as a poor experience. We are sooooo disappointed. Probably not what you want to hear, but the truth I’m afraid. Such a shame.

   Amazing! I ordered food that I didn’t like and they replaced my whole meal with no extra cost. Brilliant service. The beef wellington is outstanding.

   For an expensive 5 star restaurant they could do much better. The Beef Wellington was excellent, but the fillet was average, the halibut was bland and the service was very poor. One of the four of us had to ask 5 times for a refresh on the glass of iced tea-nobody seemed to care. Of course you are charged for tea refreshes.

   The scene was set with pre’s at the American Bar. It was the first time at any kitchen/chefs table and first time having Gordon Ramsay’s famous beef wellington dish. The Savoy Grill did not disappoint. The kitchen staff were all personable, the food was out of this world (I wish the slice of wellington could have been thicker but that’s just me being greedy). I would recommend this to anyone. Incredible.

   The service is really good, so friendly, and also food is beyond my expectations for the set menu, we tried 3 course meal with extra supplement to try beef wellington, best ever beef Wellington I ever had, the three courses are all very delicious and desert not super sweet and delicated design. Cocktail is also lovely present and love it.
