   Another fine evening at Scala Osteria. This has become our go to spot before a concert at the Uptown Theatre. They're a short walk apart and both great experiences. I had the BDG pollo and my wife had the petrale sole. Both were excellent. We also had a very reasonably priced bottle of Italian Vermentino that was tasty. (Of course Trump will probably put an end to that.) I highly recommend Scala Osteria.

   We were celebrating my husbands birthday with our family. Cait provided such wonderful service! Attentive but not intrusive. We ordered quite a few dishes to share family style - all standouts in their own way. Fresh and flavorful. Great table looking looking outside. Thoughtful touches - handwritten card and delicious gelato with candle and happy birthday chocolate. Always a favorite! Cheers ~

   Late flight? Scala is open late, the last seating is at 10:30pm. Even though it's a limited menu at that hour, there are many fabulous choices. The meatballs with sauce and soft polenta is one of my favorites, while my husband likes the calzone, and we both enjoy their salad. The service is top notch and even though it's late, they never try to rush the service.

   What a great culinary experience! I had the Filet of petrale sole piccata and it was to die for! Delicate fish expertly prepared with a light piccata sauce and steamed spinach. Paired this with their Ronsard "La Pleiade" Sancerre which was wonderful!! Started the meal off with their small caesar salad, so fresh and tasty, and a glass of Schramsberg "Brut Rosé. My party of 3 was seated upstairs, which I didn't even know they had, and boy was I glad we were. So intimate and much quieter than downstairs for sure. Most dishes are a la carte so be prepared for 'add ons' but they are worth it. Guests in my party had the Pan-seared Branzino & collection of steamed vegetables on the side and they loved it! Happily recommend!!!

   We have loved Donna Scala and her husband’s restaurants since dining at Scala’s San Francisco. When we moved to Napa 25 years ago we were (and are) frequent dinners at Bistro Don Giovanni near our home so we wanted to give Scala’s Osteria a try. This restaurant hit it out of the park. The ambiance complemented the outstanding service and of course the delicious food.

    My shrimp and clam pasta was excellent and my companion said the lasagna was very good. We are considering coming here again for a future trip.
