   Mon expérience au restaurant Sel Noir a été plutôt mitigée. Côté cuisine, les plats étaient corrects. Nous avons opté pour des classiques dans l’ensemble bien réalisés. Cela dit, j’ai eu une mauvaise surprise dans mon plat de champignons sautés : j’y ai trouvé ce qui ressemblait à une longue pelure de pomme de terre, que j’ai d’abord prise pour du papier. La sensation en bouche était franchement désagréable. En en parlant à mon compagnon, il m’a confié avoir lui aussi retrouvé des pelures d’oignon dans son plat de contre-filet… Ce genre de détail ne passe pas inaperçu, surtout vu les prix pratiqués. Quant au service, il laissait à désirer. Le serveur ne nous a pas présenté le menu, il nous a demandé si nous souhaitions de l’eau, plate ou pétillante. Mon compagnon a choisi la pétillante, sans qu’on nous précise qu’il s’agissait d’une bouteille d’Evian à 9 $. Ce genre de pratique, que j’avais déjà entendue, laisse un goût amer. Je m’en souviendrai la prochaine fois. Autre élément qui m’a dérangé : un membre de l’équipe en cuisine (je ne connais pas son rôle exact) buvait un verre au bar. J’ai d’abord cru qu’il était un client, jusqu’à ce que mon compagnon me fasse remarquer qu’il faisait partie de la brigade. Ce n’est pas très professionnel. Et comment ne pas évoquer l’attente… Nous avions une réservation à 20h, et nous sommes partis à 22h50. J’ai attendu 15 minutes pour une crème brûlée. Pour un dessert aussi simple, que je prépare moi-même régulièrement, ce délai m’a semblé excessif — d’autant que le caramel était à moitié craquant, à moitié liquide. Rien qui justifie un tel délai, à mon sens. D’autres clients, arrivés bien après nous, ont terminé leur repas en même temps que nous, servis beaucoup plus rapidement. L’une d’elles avait une ring light sur sa table — des influenceurs, peut-être ? Si tel est le cas, cette différence de traitement est regrettable. En somme, malgré quelques points positifs, je ne pense pas renouveler l'expérience

   The best steakhouse in Montreal, period! From the burrata to the ribeye, everything was perfect. Had the pleasure to meet Gabriel our waiter. Ask him about wine, he knows what’s he’s talking about.

   Service was fine. A lot of backwards hat kids at the bar but hey ho. Food was not up to the level. Octopus not fresh and like rubber, tomahawk well cooked but the meat was either old / refrozen or cheap. Was chewy and we left it half eaten. $600 bill for 2 and was bad enough I won’t return. Value ain’t there.

   Went by on Friday night around 5pm. Had some appetizers and cocktails. We tried the tuna tartar, beef carpaccio and burrata. It was all really good. Service was quick. Also tried their new cocktail a Carajillo. Really unique and delicious. Will return soon!

   I went there for my birthday ( WRONG IDEA) we booked for 21:45 it took us 45min to get seated because some influencers were occupying our table ( so when you’re a influencer you get special treatment the rules doesn’t apply to you and the regular persons don’t count uk) and we couldn’t have another one because a group of man were there from 5pm to 10h30 ( so the group of man disturbed their seatings but why did you let them stay for 5+ hours know that for a group of 7 people they only get the table for 2h30?? You could’ve transferred them to the bar) We get seated WITHOUT a menu it took us around 10-15min to get the menu and I had to asked for it. It took us around 45min to get our plates ( we were the last ones in the restaurant lol ) I barely touched my food because they RUINED everything for me that day. Overall the food was alright but the service was awful even though they did offer free drinks when we were waiting at the bar for the table but hey I didn’t went to get drinks I went to celebrate my birthday, try the food and have a good experience so never again honestly.

    The food was subpar, the service was even worse, and the prices are completely unjustified. I asked our waitress for salt and waited 20 minutes! 20! before finally asking someone else. The salmon? Absolutely nasty. No seasoning whatsoever. It tasted like it was boiled in plain water. The steak came out dry, and to make it worse, I had to order the sauce on the side like an afterthought. We waited forever just to get our food, and our waitress was incredibly slow and unresponsive the entire time. Everything took so long and felt like a chore for the staff. We left extremely disappointed. We didn’t even feel like tipping, but still gave $5 each out of politeness, even though she honestly deserved zero. She just grabbed the machine and left no thank you, no goodbye, nothing. Safe to say we’re never coming back. Don’t waste your time or money here.
