   Serai is nothing short of spectacular. This place takes Filipino cuisine and flips it on its head in the best way possible—modern, inventive, and absolutely bursting with flavor. Every dish was a revelation, balancing tradition with a creative edge that made for an unforgettable experience. The chef’s feed me menu was a masterclass in pacing, flavor, and pure indulgence, and when paired with their killer selection of natural wines? Next level. Every sip and bite felt like they were made for each other. It’s the kind of thoughtful, well-executed dining experience that you just don’t come across often. And then there’s the service—Annah and Rene, you guys are absolute legends. Warm, knowledgeable, and effortlessly cool, striking that perfect balance of attentiveness without even a hint of stuffiness. Serai has nailed the kind of relaxed yet refined vibe that so many places try (and fail) to achieve. Honestly, this might be one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to. Fine dining as we know it is done—Serai is setting the new standard for what high-quality food and service should look like, not just in Melbourne, but anywhere. Huge thanks to the whole team for looking after us so well—we loved every second of it.

   Sat at the Chefs table for lunch, highly recommended. Everything was amazing and all the staff were friendly, attentive, accomodating. First time coming, won’t be the last!

   First time we’ve been but it definitely won’t be the last. Many of those dishes we had I’d return just to eat them again and again and again. 😍🤤 and I intend to. Unfortunately, for us, there was a very large group enjoying a boisterous birthday party. We were enjoying our special birthday too, but after they left we could hear ourselves and, importantly, your staff who we’d struggled to hear earlier. Don’t suppose that high ceiling helps in that regard 🤔 Look forward to returning again and soon. 😁😍🙏🏼🤞

   Great selection of Filipino dishes with a twist. Adequate portions for starters, must order the Sinuglaw and Inasal woodfired flatbread. The Lechon pork belly main and bagoong rice to die for. The staff are friendly and informative for newbies. We'll be back.

   Master chef Ross cooked us outstanding dishes. We stayed there eating for literally 2 and a half hours. Serai is definitely on my top 5 restaurants. I strongly recommend it!!!

   First visit. My wife who is of Filipino background was confused by the half filipino half english menu listing, with some of the filipino terms, not relating to their traditional meaning/way. A clearer description appropriate. Nevertheless the food was of high quality with generous servings. Waiter service was very friendly & efficient, and helpful with any questions. Disappointing was the significant mark-up on the drinks menu; a stubby of San Miguel $13.00 which can be bought at Dan Murphy for $2.80, and a glass of Werkstatt riesling $19.00, which can bought by the bottle online for $38.00. All the wine by the glass was in $17-23 range with bottles of Australian wine in the $80-90+ range.

    Always perfect, every time I’m in Melbourne I always come to Serai. The only restaurant I’ve ever been to that makes you feel like you’re eating at someones pinoy house feeled with love.
