Wonderful. Our server Dylan and all the wait staff were great. Helpful without hovering. Great hummus and the Israeli salad is a treat. Orange blossom gelato was great as well. A top notch dining experience

I read about this place and it was our first meal on this visit to New Orleans. What a start to a trip! Amazing lunch. I would suggest making a reservation as it was full when we dined on a Friday. We sat at the bar and the bartender was great, tasty drinks (the Tavi Spritz is my new favorite drink) and good advice on food. We started with the half order of fried chicken hummus. Creamy hummus topped with chucks of fried chicken and amazing salsa verde. So good! The fresh pita and olive oil and spices served with it were perfect. I loved the crispy halloumi. Crispy and hot drizzled with honey and on the best citrus and nut base. Every bite was a flavor bomb. ❤️ The lamb kofta had nice char and flavor , served on some spicy spread with tomatoes and yogurt to cool it off. The sujuk pide is big. A thin bread wrapped around tender meat and cheese with tomatoes on top. Filling but so good! We didn’t have room for dessert because we enjoyed the lunch so much. I would definitely go back and try more. And more crispy halloumi!

I had been wanting to go to Shaya for a long time and the opportunity arose last minute . Excitedly I arrived , but sadly the food was a let down. The bread was very good , very much the high point . Hummus was nice and a very generous portion . My main was the Salmon that was very ordinary, admittedly moist in the middle but had some weird rock hard crust on the top and the whole dish lacked flavour really . It was the sort of thing that if I had done it myself at home I would have been disappointed in . My wife had the chicken which was well cooked but care much for the other things on the plate . Sadly a very underwhelming experience overall .

The food is good, but no surprises on the menu-not a single dish that stood out as unique. The service was lukewarm and slow. Maybe it was the season? Not sure we will return after this most recent experience.

Everything about this meal was incredible. There were 6 of us and we never even made it to the Large Dishes. We all shared most of the Salatim, then ordered several of the Hummus Dishes and finally ordered a few of the Small Plates. Our waitress was perfectly attentive, our drinks were always filled and the Pita was freshly made and the plate was filled to our hearts content. Would DEFINITELY recommend Shaya.

I have been to Shaya around ten times now and the one adjective that comes to mind is consistent, Shaya is consistently wonderful every time I go and that is no easy feat. You know how you go to a restaurant and have a good time but the next time you go it is not as good, not with Shaya, every time I go I have an incredible experience. We had Alysa as our server and she was great, very knowledgeable and attentive without being overbearing. We had our usual scrumptious fried chicken hummus and cauliflower hummus and ventured out and tried the salmon and lamb sandwich all wonderful. Will be back twice this January, cannot wait.
