   I haven't dined here in many years because the menu did not have any serious vegetarian cuisine. However, I recently checked out the menu on line and found one interesting vegetarian entree so we went there for our anniversary. The spaghetti squash was creatively delicious, as was the maple squash soup. My wife ordered the salmon, which was just o.k. I had a local beer and she had the apple cider, which were both good. Overall, this is a restaurant that tries to be a notch above the standard regional options and, for the most part, succeeds. Prices are above average for this area but not outrageous. A good choice for a quiet dinner and a special occasion.

   A beautiful location and setting for a first rate special dinner. We enjoyed our first time at Erlowest. We started one special appetizer and one house standard: Sauteed Fiddlehead Ferns with Sweet Potato Gnocci and wonderful Mussels in a lovely creamy sauce over risotto. We then had an appetizer-size order of quail served over spaghetti squash for my wife and slow-braised short ribs served pver mashed potatoes and roasted carrots with red curry sauce and bathed with rosemary demiglace. For dessert we shared a truly tasty Raspberry-Peach "cobbler" which was really a Crisp...nice crunchy crumb topping, not the traditional cobbler biscuit topping. No matter...we prefer crisps anyway~

   I can't say enough good things about this restaurant. From the moment you enter the front door to when you leave the experience is outstanding. The location is perfect for a romantic dinner or weekend getaway. The food experience is amazing, and the chef will have dreaming of your next meal there. The menu is so well thought out and each item on your plate pares so well together. The menu does change I believe seasonally but I'm never worried because chef knows what he's doing. I have tried many things that I would never try, I have yet to be disappointed.

   What a lovely romantic evening we had, the ambiance was amazing as well as the food being top notch. You guys made our date night special. Service was also amazing and would definitely recommend this to anyone who is in the Lake George Area.

   Waitress was not too attentive. Food was VERY overpriced for the quality and quantity. Menu didnt have many choices.Ambience was very nice.

   The experience at Shepard’s at Erlowest was simply amazing! The food was spectacular along with the drinks! Highly recommend eating here! Service was great too! The ambiance was divine!

    An hour to get there and an hour to get back to Schenectady, but it was worth it. Dignified fine dining. My filet Mignon was excellent. Companions' meals were very satisfying. Too bad we don't have much of this quality of peaceful dining in the capital district, but we now know where to go.
