Shinsei Restaurant - Traditional Sushi / Contemporary Asian Kitchen

When we came up with the concept of Shinsei we wanted a place that reflected our lifestyles: sometimes we went out to dinner with our kids and sometimes with our friends and husbands. We wanted to create a place where a night out with the kids didn’t mean food adults had to suffer through or a night out with the parents didn’t mean a stuffy place where kids had to wear a scratchy clip-on tie. Shinsei is just that: a neighborhood gathering place with date night appeal.

But not so unexpected that you won’t be able to decipher the menu or recognize your favorite dish. Our signature poppers, for instance, are a sophisticated mix of late night bar food and sumptuous finger food with a distinctly Asian flair.

    Had a fabulous server—our receipt showed his name to be Ralph. He made our birthday celebration very special. Above and beyond the what was hoped for. Food and his helpers were great as well we had children with us and he kept the food coming. Perfect evening. Thank you Ralph.

    Sushi is absolutely the best, super fresh and high quality. Love the crispy rock shrimp and dumplings too. Excellent, delicious food and great service. Overall great experience.

    Great food ! Service was outstanding. Parking is bad, no parking to use had to park at offices across the street. Ambiance was nice but too crowded tables so close together you can have a conversation with people next to you and music was so loud you have to scream at each other to hear the person in front of you.

    My table only ordered appetizers and it took 2.5 hours. Each drink took at least 30 minutes. Food was excellent but service was not good.

    The dumplings tasted like grease and the seared salmon on top of our sushi roll tasted like butane. I think maybe it was just an off night because we’ve heard nothing but wonderful things about this restaurant and we were excited to try it. Won’t be back.
