Skull Creek Dockside Restaurant, dropped its anchor in the Fall of 2017 and forever changed the culinary landscape of the Lowcountry. In early 2017 the partners of the restaurant began to transform it into their vision for Hilton Head's newest waterfront dining destination. This restaurant, which resembles an old-style river house, is full of authentic architecture, reclaimed wood, and nautical accents that leave you feeling like you've stepped into a Melville novel. The sweeping waterfront view is showcased by full pane glass windows throughout the restaurant which you can enjoy no matter where you dine. The covered patio dining area, and massive outdoor bar, the shark bar, allows patrons to enjoy the Lowcountry climate and serve to further highlight the amazing sunset views over skull creek. If you are concerned about long wait times, the good news is the restaurant accepts reservations and provides a family recreation area between dockside and boathouse. Kids and adults can enjoy a variety of games, the very popular shark bar and 'shrimp boat' playground. Kids can play while families are waiting for a table, or simply enjoying the amazing waterfront views.

This was our second year having Thanksgiving at Skull Creek Dockside. It was just as good this year. The price, selection, food and service was excellent!

Our party of eight was seated late about twenty minutes after our reservation. We didn't receive service for another twenty minutes after being shown to our table. The food that we ordered was in smaller portions than you would think for the price being charged. Our waiter checked on us once throughout dinner. Our food was overcooked and chewy but the kids meals were good. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant for the experience, price, food, and service. We have had better experiences next door at the boathouse.

Nothing but good things about the taste and quality of the food and service but definitely paid tourist prices. I would recommend only if you’re not on a budget.

Overall it was good. The pasta was a little undercooked the breading on the scallops fell off. The seared scallops and stuffed trout was great.

Our waitress Ally was fantastic! Gave us fantastic recommendations for what to order. The smokehouse nachos were to die for! And the seafood Alfredo….delish. All the kids said the chicken tenders were the best they’ve ever had… and they are picky! Very charming and warm bar area. We’ll be back!

Both the fried chicken and crab cake benedicts were excellent. Service was great and the ambiance (we sat outside on the patio) was gorgeous. We have been several times over the years and have not been disappointed.
