Ordinarily we have a good experience but this time it was so poor I felt a review was in order for the restaurant itself to consider. Our waiter would come over ask if we were good and before we could answer would run off. He took one drink order at a time so it took 45 minutes for us to all to get our first cocktail and order. At the end he came over and apologized and wanted to comp us dessert. We said we were exhausted and didn’t have the time. He promised it would take five minutes tops to bring it out. It took another 25 minutes to get a cold cookie. He didn’t bring it out and we couldn’t find him to get our check. We were seriously disappointed. We actually brought up the service issue two times earlier. Management should have put someone else at our table to correct it. It was a simple fix. I actually don’t know if we’ll go back as there are other steak houses in Chicago.

Aged steaks were grisly, proteins broken down but not pleasant to chew. Rare for my many eats at S&Ws over the years, but bummer.

It was our first time there and everything from the moment you walk in to when you leave was great. Top notch service from everyone that interacted with us and food was fantastic.

Thanksgiving dinner was very disappointing. Service was rushed, food was thrown on plate without any thought to presentation or care. Our table was in the basement, next to the service area. Definitely not the experience I remembered nor hoped for. Meat was ok. Not worth the price as it did not deliver on value.

It was my first thanksgiving in Chicago with my husband. Everything was like a dream come true. The food was exquisite. That staff was incredible. Thank you for having us Smith and Wollensky. We will definitely come back!

Service was mediocre at best. We sat there no less than 10 minutes with waiters go by us, around us and by us agin and no one said a word, gave us a menu or even gave us water. We finally had to ask for help. To boot, we were literally in the middle of the room so it’s not like we were out of the way and easily ignored. In 2 hours, our water glasses were refilled one time. We were parched. As for food: Bread was stale, Steaks and sides were good but nothing more special than any other less expensive place and the chocolate cake we took back to the hotel was so dry that it just went to crumbs when we put a fork in it. It was AWFUL! 100% not worth the +$500 we spent for four of us.
