   Have done a lot of 'que and did not expect to find something this good in Milwaukee. Went for brunch and it gave me some items to try at home. Will go back on my next trip.

   An unexpected bonus to be offered a table outside on the heated, fire table patio on a cool fall night with college football on the screen. Reed offered great attentive service. Our table ordered various menu items but all agreed the pulled pork was the winner. A gem in MKE!

   The staff were welcoming and helpful, but the food was sadly lacking. The brisket was lukewarm and soggy, with not much flavor. The links were likewise quite bland. The smoked jackfruit went the other way, with too much vinegar. I was expecting outstanding BBQ, and was pretty disappointed.

   The food was really mediocre. Granted we had an 8PM reservation on a Wed night, but our waiter didn't put in our food order and had to come back to take our order again. I had the sampler platter and split with someone in my group. There were no more ribs and we opted to get more brisket added. The brisket that was served one piece was almost entirely fat. All of the other meat was cold and really tasteless. The mac and cheese tasted bland and watery. The place was not crowded and in fact we were the last table in the place by the time we left. It was my son, daughter and a couple of their friends who are all students at Marquette and they had the same thoughts on the food. Overall it was a disappointing experience given that our first experience a couple of years ago was really fantastic. The food was really not that good.

   First time as this Third Ward BBQ restaurant. Loved the ambience of the bar and patio. We sat at the bar and enjoyed a pulled pork sandwich and brisket dinner meal. They offer a nice selection of locally-brewed beers and plenty of bourbon choices.

   1st time trying out Smoke Shack. Was able to get parking close by- bonus. Was greeted the second we walked in the door- cool vibes- awesome ambiance. Sat outside which was great- gorgeous evening! Smelled AMAZING- can’t beat a good smoked smell! Our waiter was super chill and personable. We ordered the sampler platter which I knew was going to be a lot of food- but since we had never been there- wanted to try as much as we could. They do a dry rub, so you can add your own sauce to switch it up. 4-5 different sauces which was fantastic. Cornbread: omg. I am NOT a cornbread fan… but I could have eaten the whole piece. Delish!! The sweet potato fries were probably the best I’ve ever had. Everything was incredible. We highly recommend and will definitely come back!

   We we enjoyed great food and tranquil atmosphere at Smoke Shack before visiting Irish fest. The Beef Brisket sandwich was great. I loved the option of sweet potato fries. One of us had a brunch specific steak and egg platter that was also great. Great choice with good prices in the 3rd ward. It's nice you can make reservations even at busy times. Some of the other popular places you are standing on the sidewalk.

    Awesome place love their food. If you are looking for a place that serves smoke food then this is your place. Try the smoke salad mouth watering.
