Sofia has been a longtime favorite for my family—we eat here almost weekly because the food is great, and there’s something for everyone. As someone who’s gluten-free, I especially love their bread. Normally, we have a wonderful time, but our most recent visit was beyond disappointing. From the start, our server was incredibly rude. We waited 30 minutes before she even came to our table, and when we ordered appetizers, she criticized us for ordering “too much,” making us feel uncomfortable and embarrassed. Knowing service might be slow, we placed our full order at the same time, but our food still took over an hour to arrive. When it finally came, my dad’s pizza was cold, and my mom’s was soggy—clearly sitting out for too long. To make matters worse, when we asked for a manager, no one came. Instead, someone I believe to be the hostess stopped by without introducing herself. She reluctantly took the pizzas off the bill but didn’t apologize or even acknowledge our frustration. It was a shocking experience, especially considering how often we dine here. We’ve always loved Sofia, but this visit left us questioning whether we’ll return. We expect better service—especially as loyal customers. Hopefully, this was just a one-off, but it was truly an uncomfortable and unenjoyable experience. I’d love to hear back from a manager to discuss the situation and make things right before we come back.

The pasta was great, but the pizza was not. Undercooked and floppy. Drinks were great, when we got them. Service was flow and we never received our last order of cocktails.

We shared the Marguerite Pizza and Pasta Ala Vodka. Both were excellent and comparable to New York experiences, in a very good way. We shared the dessert, Budini and it was excellent and one of my most memorable desserts. We tried to figure out how the chocolate paper was made and we think we figured it out. Excellent.

Pasta was ok, not a real cacio e pepe recipe, the other dishes were just ok. A friend had sai the portions were small and had stopped going to this restaurant due to the quality of the food. A 4% tip is automatically added for the kitchen and you are not told upon arrival. The restaurant was not that busy, but had to ask if we could have a server come by and take our drinks at the least. Would recommend other restaurants.

We had an exceptional meal. One of us has Celiac disease and thought this was the best gluten free pasta dish ever. I had the pesto pizza that I thoroughly enjoyed. The Brussels sprouts were so tasty. Portions were a good size. I will be back in NOLA in a few weeks for work and definitely plan to bring my colleagues here.

This is a restaurant that my wife and I frequently visit. Normally the food is great, service sharp and attentive, and a very nice experience. This visit was not up to par and we returned tonight and had an awful experience. Not sure if is Mardi Gras hangover or what but my last 2 visits have been extremely rough.

Great find. Really cute outdoor seating area. A passerby remarked how romantic. Pasta was incredible. We had the pesto. The pizza crust was so light and airy, some of best we’ve had. Would definitely go back.

Sofia was not accommodating with my party’s allergies and was not willing to make any substitutions. And when we were paying, our server gave us quite a hard time with splitting our checks saying he was not able to itemize anything but can only split the check 3 way with up to 3 cards.
