   My second time visiting, this time was for my birthday, and I went with family. Again, the food was spot on. I did have to wait a while to get it, but it wasn’t too much of a long wait. My experience with the service this time was poor. I don’t know if the server was having a rough night or something, but he obviously was not interested in our table. What made it worse is that the table behind us had a different server, and they were getting excellent service. I honestly wanted to switch servers. He rushed us to take our orders. Granted, this was my family’s first time there, so they didn’t know what to get. Rather than rushing, he could have suggested something like the other server was doing. Then, after my sister gave her order, he just took the menu and walked off. He didn’t say anything and didn’t confirm what we ordered. My Mom was trying to order a drink, and he just ignored her no eye contact. It was just not the best experience, and again, the table behind us was getting a far better experience than us. I hope he can see this and take it as a learning opportunity to treat customers a little better.

   Service was not very attentive and somewhat non existent Food delivery to the table was a somewhat haphazard broccolini was under cooked and raw Seafood pasta was too salty We had to pour our own wine Lack of water on the table

   Overpriced and flavourless. Served lobster with no tools to crack or eat. Very disappointed for the price.

   Gave it another try. And on a birthday no less. The restaurant knew it was a birthday celebration. The restaurant was far from crowded, not even a quarter full. And the service, was lackluster, absent, mute, joyless, carried out with the energy of malaise and hundreds of dollars spent and not even a simple cookie delivered to say happy birthday throughout the meal. Doubly disappointed. Lesson learned. The view is the highlight and the sea and sun is no doing of the restaurant.

   Solemar is a great restaurant! Food was excellent! We had a table reservation but ended up staying at the bar and eating dinner. Service at the bar very attentive! The only minor issue is Solemar allows smoking in the outdoor space. There was a guy sitting two seats down from that was smoking….thankfully the smell wasn’t bad. The view is amazing and Solemar is a great restaurant.

   Of our party of four, two entrees were cold. One was so bad it was sent back. On the other, the lobster didn't come out of the shell cleanly and was tough to chew. Apps and dessert were the best part. Picked this place for Christmas dinner but overall was underwhelmed.

    Great value for your money. Great service. The grilled octopus starter was quite tasty, as well as the lamb ribs and lobster bites.
