It was such a nice evening, everything from well crafted cocktails to the final little sweets with amaro. Pastas really shine at Sorella. And the service is outstanding. As near to perfect as a meal gets.

Fixed menu for Valentine’s Day was underwhelming, especially the vegetarian options. General lack of flavor. Not worth the price for the experience. Would come back to try the regular menu.

Loved the restaurant but trying to talk over the music they were playing was difficult. Might not go back even though I enjoyed the food I also want to enjoy my friends

I was so excited for our Sorella dinner - it was one of the reservations my friends and I made for our trip to SF as a weekend away from NC. I found the restaurant on a recommended list and followed the Instagram account…everything looked exquisite! But something just fell flat when we were there. The service, while not rude, wasn’t welcoming or engaging - it felt very minimalist, which for a higher-priced Italian spot, was underwhelming. It was a stark contrast from other dining experiences during our time in SF. The interior was also giving a minimalist vibe, but not in a chic or tasteful way - it felt very bare-boned and uninviting. The food was fine. No problems with any dishes, but nothing that left us wow-ed. The halibut in the crudo was very fresh, but the flavors didn’t pop like we anticipate with a crudo. The beets were tender and well-marinated, but we agreed that elements of texture to give more depth, like a rich cheese or crunchy/toasty nut, were missing. One pasta was hot and al dente, but we needed salt to give us more flavor out of it and noticed that the meat was sparse; the other, their lasagna, was beautifully presented, but came off as one-dimensional. We thoroughly enjoyed the dessert and amari section, and were treated with a dish of lemony cookies and passion fruit jellies - that may have been my favorite bite of the evening! I love spending good money on dining experiences, but I expect the dishes to meet or surpass expectations based on the price point, and I think that is where Sorella missed the mark for us. Unfortunately, it was our most expensive dinner out, yet our least favorite of our time in California.

We had an absolutely amazing time celebrating our anniversary here! The host was so kind and brought us complimentary champagne. Each item we ordered kept getting better and better, and our server was awesome. This will become a regular spot for us!

Loved the chicory salad! And the steak was delicious. The booth made for a more private dining experience, so we really appreciated that.

Each one of the dishes we ordered were exceptional. Just choose carefully from the descriptions on the menu and the chef will not disappoint. The ingredients were nicely balanced and all the food was cooked delicately in a way that was easy to chew and swallow. The sauces for each dish were in a sufficient amount and not too rich. Desserts were sweet but not too much so. Kind regards to the kitchen and wait staff. Thank you for a pleasant evening.
