We made the reservation for my birthday and went to the restaurant. Apparently, it was closed. We were not notified of this closure.

The restaurant was completely closed. 6 of us had to scramble to find an alternative on a Saturday at prime time. Not sure what’s going on with this place but I wish they had turned off resy!

Great food, location and drinks. My only problem was that they added an additional 5% rip to the bill without the waiter mentioning it. I understand that it is the thing to do now for LA restaurants but it feels manipulative and wrong. Raise prices if you need to but don’t surprise diners with fees that they are not obligated to pay.

We have been to Soulmate several times and have always had a nice experience. The service is good, and the food was delicious. We will definitely go back!

This restaurant was all bark and no bite. What seemed to be a vibey place turned out to be environment without adequate lighting or temperature control. Pretty much every dish was a mess. Shout out to the hummus that was served with straight up raw vegetables rather than any prepared veggies or pita. The fried chicken thighs were not that tasty and we served with an aioli that was equally not tasty. The seafood rice dish was OK - the Fish and shrimp were nice, but the rice was basically a tomato goop. Lastly, the waitress deceived us into thinking we wouldn't have enough food, and so we ordered the burger to share, and she further deceived us by acting like the fries were included which we found out were separate when the bill came.

The server was kind of rude but other staff was assisting him & they were nice. Food is okay, tried fire shrimp , fried chicken & smash burger all the easy to make items, burger did taste like Big Mac not sure if that’s what they intended to make. I would come back because I like fancier style Big Macs. Ambience is nice in the patio.
