Went to El Rey Theatre so very close within a 3 min walk. Picked this place for variety on menu. Casual gastropub and after 8pm on a Sat night it got busier and filled up and service was ok for how busy they were. Got tri-tip entree and came out in 3 large chunks so meat was tough, dry and chewy. Used to thinly slice tri-tip that makes it softer and easier to cut. The brocolini, cornbread pancake was fine. If in the neighborhood I would give it another try maybe other menu items are better.

This place is close to LACMA. I enjoyed the food, service and ambiance. Fish and chips were tasty. Portions just right. Chocolate bread pudding with bacon and salted caramel was insane. Top it off with a pint of Guinness and call it a great meal.

Very loud atmosphere! Energetic to say the least... we had to yell across the table just to hear each other. We met friends that we hadn't seen in awhile so our intent was to have dinner, drinks and catch up. Well we ate and drank and yelled at each other until we had enough and decided a quiter place would have been a better pick. Food was great though!

We had been referred to Spare Tire by a waiter at another restaurant we frequent and decided to try it Saturday night. Energetic crowd during NCAA Final Four. We sat in the side away from the large-screen TVs. Extensive whiskey menu. Disappointed they did not have mezcal. We were planning on eating dinner there and ordered a pizza while waiting for a friend to arrive. Probably the worst pizza I have had in Los Angeles. Even though Spare Tire has a great wood-burning oven, the pizza crust was completely tasteless. Decided to wrap it up then and went somewhere else for dinner.

service was great, although she wasn't too knowledgeable. décor was fine. Food was not great. Some dishes were really good. the pizza was good. the salad was good. the gnocci was decent. EVERYTHING else was pretty bad. the crème brulee...was bad, mac and cheese we sent back, etc.... they really need to get the food right. don't have fancy food, like grilled watermelon and ahi, unuless its good!!

Well I'll begin by saying I wIll never go to a new place the night after a grand opening! They were out of various things. No grey goose vodka, there were two featured drinks on the menu and several dishes that were not available because they were giving food away the night before. There was no pizza available because the pizza oven wasn't ready. This is (to some degree) understandable. They didn't expect the turnout to be so big But the service was very poor. They were perfectly nice but just off their game. No asking if we wanted another drink, or to eat. We had to ask for service. The food was good though. Nice chicken and waffles with a drizzle of honey on these little mini waffles. There was a nice grilled polentaa on mushroom ragout which was very tasty and a beet salad which was just very simple and clean. I hope they make it because the food is worthy of another try. But I'll wait until they work out the kinks.
