Service: Excellent. Salad was good but it’s chicory and walnuts Pasta: butter/sage was like eating a stick of butter. Not Italian. Not at all good. Pasta with sauce tasted off, like maybe not fresh. Needed salt. Badly. Both of these were just not at all good and for a signature really poor. Carrots: tasted like meat. Seriously. Apple tart: good, needed more apples, less dough. Gelato was nice. Overall bad meal, nice server.

Such a lovely night and dining experience all the way around. Food and drinks were absolutely exceptional. Service - wonderful: attentive but not intrusive. Ambiance…lovely, but just a bit chilly by the front door. Looking forward to returning soon.

I have eaten at Spinasse several times when visiting Seattle, with each visit being very enjoyable (which is why I have returned.) I recently ate at Spinasse again and, while the food was outstanding as usual, the overall experience was awful due to my seat and the chaos around me. I was dining alone, as I often do, and was offered either a table or a seat at the counter/bar when I arrived for my reservation. I requested the counter/bar, which I often prefer as opposed to a solo table. I was seated at the last seat in a wrap around counter/bar, which happened to be 2-3 feet from the station where all food orders were left for the waitstaff. There was constant coming and going (as would be expected) with servers and staff passing by me with maybe 6-8 inches clearance, with "right behind you with glasses", "take to table 102", "excuse me, coming thru" the entire time I was dining. It was completely off-putting for a dining experience that I had been looking forward to for several weeks. I would suggest that Spinasse take the particular seat out of service, or at a minimum warn the diner that they are seated in a high traffic area and will experience frequent interruptions.

Made a reservation about 1 month in advance. Had really high hopes for this restaurant, since I saw it highlighted several times online, but I wasn’t overly impressed. The highlights of the restaurant were the ambiance and the waitstaff, who were all incredibly friendly and knowledgeable - they took time to explain the concept of the restaurant and the inspiration behind the menu. However, I thought the food fell short. The brown butter sage pasta, which was recommended and highlighted as a favourite menu item, wasn’t very appetizing to either myself or my friend. The goat cheese gnocchi was the best thing we ordered on the menu - maybe we just ordered the wrong things. The entire meal and experience was underwhelming for me, especially for the price we paid. I personally feel there are better Italian restaurants in the city to spend your money on.

A very lovely evening with a gentle and attentive server and delicious Italian dishes. Glasses of soft Barbera and Dolcetto with complimentary crostini col burro ed acciughe to start. Then the three of us enjoyed an antipasto of sausage-stuffed cipollini, followed by a crab risotto and their handmade tajarin al ragu, and un secondo of polpette di coniglio con un contorno of broccoli. No room for birthday dessert, but a sweet penguin holding a lit birthday candle was brought as a touching finale. The dining room is beautiful. Tutto buonissimo. Complimenti. Thank you. <3
