Service was very welcoming and they knew what they were doing! Did have to ask anything because they were right on top of things!

My wife and I visited Standard Italian on the break between double header games for the nearby Red Sox. The choices for full service dining near Fenway are limited and so we thought we'd give try the Italian offering from the Eastern Standard folks. As you probably know, Eastern Standard was a long-time institution in Kenmore Square but lost its lease in a pandemic-related dispute with their landlords. Recently the Eastern Standard folks reopened Eastern Standard and its Italian cousin in a new construction residential tower a few hundred yards from Fenway. Any way, the food and service was fine. The porchetta was impossible to cut as the outer skin was so hard that it defied my knife. (I could have used more effort, but I was afraid it would go flying!). The interior pork was very dry and I personally would have appreciated more jus. I had the asaparugus appetizer as well. My wife thought the lasagna was excellent. I was surprised the restaurant wasn't busier but it might have had something to do with Memorial Day weekend and pouring rain. The build out and decor was a little underwhelming. It's a lot of square footage and was obviously new construction, not second generation. Given the amazing atmosphere of the original Eastern Standard on Kemnore Square, I would have expected more of Standard Italian. I found the room stark and antiseptic, but design is very subjective and it didn't work for me.

Really great addition to the Fenway. By far, the best food and most authentic Italian experience around. Highly recommend checking it out and lasagna in particular.

Went in for an early mother’s day celebration and everyone was super welcoming and kind. The food was delicious and the menu had a lot to offer. Service was great, our server sasha was super kind and despite mentioning that she was new, she was very knowledgeable on the food and what they offered. Overall was a great experience and would love to come again.

From the front to the wait staff, service was impeccable. The cocktails and wine list offerings were outstanding. The salumi platter was generously portioned and delicious. Entrees and desserts same. Would definitely go again. (Kudos to the Maitre D’ - whose name we did not get - and to our waiter, Sadie, who both made our birthday celebration special.)

Food took forever, even though the restaurant was half empty. Drinks also took forever and they forgot about them. They also forgot one or two of our side dishes. Overall, I found the plates really small. I had to go home and have another dinner to fill up. Not worth what it takes to find parking in that area to eat there. It’s sad, what is happening to the Boston restaurant scene. These restaurant groups open multiple places like this one and they do a poor job with all of them. The food quality has gone down, the service is subpar and overall the idea to go out and eat it’s just not worth it with these prices these days for what you’re getting.
