Excellent bar foods and small snacks. Burgers were average!

Service was very friendly and polite, but the bar and the kitchen were slow as all get-out. There were only a few other tables in the restaurant, and 2 patrons at the bar - the place was more or less empty, so I'm not sure what the issue was, especially on a Friday night at 8pm. Don't get me wrong - the food tasted good, the portions were generous, and the drinks were tasty. I did not, however, feel that Stanton and Green represented the raving reviews I had been seeing online. The menu was small, uninventive, boring... Ultimately, I paid $50 for a cocktail, burger, and one of the 3 mini crabcake sliders that my 3-person group ordered. We didn't even finish the Brussels sprouts - not a good sign. Was excited to call this a neighborhood gem for Eastern Market - sadly, it pales in comparison to other places where $50 goes a lot further.

Felt like a bar and the food choices were rather limited. I can have a $15 burger anywhere. That said, the burger was pretty good.

Drinking is primary here and the drinks were good. The food was good too menu is limited to small plates and sandwiches. Atmosphere was just too loud and crowded, and menu to limited, for me to go here for dinner. So, go for drinks and know that the food is good if you decide to order.

I chose the place because it is down the street from my office and one of my folks had a great dinner there about a month ago. I chose it for a business dinner with a client. My co-worker described it as having good food including steaks and such. The on-line menu showed the same. Reasonable prices and a good selection. When we arrived the menu was different. The menu for dinner was the lunch menu of sandwiches and no dinner entrees except a special of a "chopped steak". The waitress apologetically explained that they had changed it several weeks earlier but had not changed the website. Two of us tried the "chopped steak" and the other two ended up with sandwiches. The steaks were just tasteless and the same for the mashed potatoes that went with it. The French Dip sandwich was barely passable and when we asked for some mayonnaise to go with it, the waitress, who was really nice and helpful, checked and came back to tell us that the kitchen was out of Mayonnaise. Come on, it's a restaurant. No mayo in the kitchen? That evening I sent an email to the restaurant on the restaurant's site and laid out everything i am saying here. It has been 3 days and no response. I guess that says it all on how they value the customer experience. This is unfortunate as the local community needs some competition and most of the folks who work on the street were hopeful.

Love S&G usually just have be bar bites which are really good. This time had dinner and it was also very delicious. Staff is very friendly but could come around more regularly. Sometimes it feels like they disappear but I think it is a matter of just needing a bit more training.

The food was amazing. The buffalo cauliflower was the perfect appetizer. We also enjoyed the steak and the salmon. The side of brussel sprouts was delicious as well. I can't wait to go back and try more!!!

I made reservations at Stanton and Greene for a pre-theater dinner with my family. I included a message when I made the reservation that we had plans and needed to be in and out quickly. We arrived at the restaurant and were seated promptly. There may have been one or two other couples there - it was empty. We again advised our server that we had plans and needed to be in and out. The server was pleasant but was not very knowledgeable about the menu (food and drinks) and the first couple of items we tried to order were unavailable/out of stock that night. The server forgot to order our appetizer and the food finally came out 10 minutes before we had to race to the theater. Overall, the food was average to good, but I do not think we will be back.

Along with a large group, I came for a birthday brunch in October. The menu is thoughtful and varied, and we all thoroughly enjoyed our food. What truly set S&G apart, though, was the service - with only a brief mention of the birthday occasion, they brought out several DELICIOUS desserts for the group. They truly went above and beyond and make the occasion even more special. I'll be going back!

The restaurant has a nice feel and layout. I think their menu is lacking identity. The small plates are good but the main dishes seem confused. If they sort out the menu this has the potential of being a good restaurant.
