Kevin greeted us at our table upon as being seated with a warm welcome. His service was exceptional. Very attentive and made us feel that he was happy to see us. We were seated in the smaller room facing the fireplace. Perfect for a winter evening a week before Christmas. The food was good not exceptional. The steaks were seasoned well but the vegetables lacked flavor. The caesar salad had no dressing. The presentation lacked imagination. The price was high based on the quality of the food. I would return for a cocktail at the bar and skip the food.

We celebrated my husband's birthday with dinner, where he enjoyed the ribeye steak, lobster tail, and shrimp scampi while I savored the New York steak. We started with the short rib dumplings. The food was exceptional, and the restaurant offered a beautiful, cozy, and comfortable ambiance with outstanding service.

It is not often that I leave negative feedback. However, if it wasn’t for our server, Kevin, we would’ve walked out in the first 15 minutes of sitting at our table last night. We were celebrating my husband’s birthday and decided to try the Steakhouse at Millpond Gathering for the first time. We arrived early for our reservation and had to wait a few minutes for our table (to be expected). We were brought to a bar area where people were standing around everywhere and having very loud conversations. We were both quite surprised by this considering we both expected more of an intimate ambiance. It was so loud that our server actually had to yell to welcome us. After we placed our drink order, my husband and I agreed that we couldn’t stay there. It was obnoxiously loud (we found out it was a reunion party). I went back to the host stand to request a different table. I waited for at least five minutes and no one acknowledged me. Our server (Kevin) came over to me and apologized and said he would personally move our table. We were relocated to a different room which was a bit quieter. We ordered our food. We got calamari (subpar - it was lukewarm and chewy), the burrata salad (decent) as appetizers. I ordered the seafood risotto (okay with a good amount of seafood, but salty) and my husband ordered the ribeye (cooked well, but very under seasoned). We always order dessert and after dinner drinks when we go out. So, we ordered the carrot cake (very good). He ordered a cappuccino (good) and I ordered the espresso martini flight (underwhelming). I always click on the open table reservation if there is a special occasion. While we NEVER expect anything complimentary, it’s always nice when the restaurant wishes us a happy birthday or anniversary. I don’t fault Kevin as he didn’t see the reservation, but I was annoyed that there was no happy birthday to my husband. For a $250 bill, I wish we stuck with Capital Grille, Arethusa, Millwrights, or another equally good restaurant.

The dry aged steaks were phenomenal! The flavor was perfection. The individual sides were very overpriced for the size they were 10 dollars each and it was just enough for one person. 10 bucks for a little mashed potato is a stretch in my opinion. The carrot cake was delicious and they make a mean espresso martini! The restaurant itself is gorgeous with a few stone fireplaces throughout and it’s very cozy.

Attractive setting, fantastic steak (filet) and fish (:salmon)and wonderful sides (garlic mashed, delicately cooked spinach, or broccoli/cauliflower). Good wines by the glass, and a freshly baked popover. Not cheap but prices were fair for the quality of the food. We will be back soon.
