Stella represents an expression of artistry across the mediums of cuisine, art, and design. Italian for ‘star’, Stella is inspired by the traditions of the traveling hearth of the coastal and pastoral communities of Southern, Central, and Northern Italy, enriched with local, seasonal California ingredients.

A creative collaboration between restaurateur, Janet Zuccarini, and Executive Chef Rob Gentile, Stella brings modern twists on age-old Italian culinary traditions to West Hollywood.

Inspired by 1950s Italy and created by award-winning designer Wendy Haworth, the restaurant features bold architectural details, rich woods, and vintage-inspired furniture. The multi-level restaurant is complete with private dining rooms and an intimate terrace.

With an emphasis on unique dining experiences at every turn, Stella offers a refreshing take on time-honored Italian recipes, where the quality of ingredients takes center stage.

From the OpenTable editors: Restaurateur Janet Zuccarini and formerly Toronto-based chef Rob Gentile joined forces to create Stella, a gorgeous restaurant that takes its design cues from mid-century Italy. The menu is all about Italian opulence, from beautifully presented crudos to silky handmade pastas to fresh truffle-topped Roman pizzas to meats from the wood-fired grill. Expect luxurious touches like sea urchin butter and smoked trout caviar.

We have eaten here before and the experience was excellent. The experience this time felt like they were understaffed throughout the restaurant. A lot of time waiting on the order. The food was good but the steak was not cooked to medium rare. For the $$$ price they should get this dead on every time (previous time was). The food was coursed poorly. They brought one entree out which sat for over 20 min while we waited on the other entree. We had a 5:30 reservation which took about 2:30 hours from seating to leaving. Service is a big part of the experience at a place like this and when it is done poorly it’s hard to justify going again.

I love this restaurant. Went to brunch for the first time and it was fantastic. Sat on the terrace, and it was lovely. The gold standard of a restaurant experience. Fabulous, inventive, and interesting food. The service is perfect but not stuffy or annoying. Go! Eat! Enjoy!

Beautiful spot, lots of ambiance and the food and drinks are on point as well. My only feedback is that it is comparatively more expensive than other fantastic Italian spots such as Bestia and Funke - the pizzas and pastas are double in price, $40-50 for a flatbread pizza is excessive. All the pastas were in that range or over too. There’s also a $40 dessert on the menu and the rest are all $20 which is also high! Note, they also charge a 3% health fee on your bill. I just think the pricing overall is taking advantage of customers at this point, it’s about the principle of it for me.

The food was fine, nothings extraordinary, especially for the price. This isn’t a place I’d recommend to friends as great, nor would I return. It wasn’t horrible, it was just okay.

Stella has become my favorite place in town. As an Italian, this is my second visit, mainly because I know the lady who makes the homemade pasta, and I must say, everything is excellent. This time, I brought my Italian friends who were visiting, and they were thrilled to finally enjoy authentic Italian cuisine. What I appreciate about this restaurant is not just the delicious food, but also the attentive customer service. It's refreshing to see so many managers actively engaging with diners without being intrusive. We had two different servers that evening, and both were exceptionally friendly and courteous. Everything was flawless, and I will definitely return!
