   We had dinner at Haxells, we had pre booked our table for 17:30, we were seated and all was fine, we placed our order ! Mine was a medium steak and my wife ordered the crab linguine, 17:57 my steak arrived, my wife’s dinner never arrived ! We questioned what was happening and were told it was under control and her dinner would be out directly! 18:33 before her dinner arrived at the table ! My dinner was cold and we no longer had time to eat! Totally unprofessional! We weren’t charged but I still feel this had to be addressed.

   My friend and I made a 6pm booking for a pre-theatre meal. Service from the person greeting us and taking our order was great, but, despite the fact that I ordered both of our meals before my friend arrived (to ensure we got to the theatre on time), service was very slow. It possibly explains why the restaurant was virtually empty before a showing at The Savoy Theatre virtually across the road. The food was excellent but we would have liked more time to eat it. The pre-theatere menu offers a wide range of options, mainy of them also gluten-free. I would take advantage of the pre-theatre offeron an occasion when I had more time. A group of diners/drinkers were exceptionally loud and I didn't see any of the staff ask them to reduce their noise levels, despite complaining.

   Food was excellent but it was very quiet considering it was pre theatre in theatre land. The staff were lovely but service was slow which was odd given how quiet it was. I'd go back for the food and the location.

   We booked this restaurant to visit jist before the Nutcracker Show at London Coliseum on 23Rd December. From start to finish the staff was extremely welcoming and nice. The overall service was to a very high standard. The food was amazing.

   What a shame. Lovely place and food but having been asked what time we had to be at theatre the food was very late and we had to ask for it after a 40 minute wait. We had to leave before dessert and argue over the bill. Not a great start to the evening.

   A wonderful evening meal at this beautiful restaurant after the show. Thank you for taking good care of us. We will be back again on our next visit to London

   A good central place for lunch. There was a good choice on the menu. I enjoyed my veggie burger. The service was fine generally although we had to wait some time to pay. I liked the space and decor of the dining area. I would go again.

   We had booked through OpenTable for Afternoon Tea and our reservation was for 12.00. However, when we arrived and produced our booking ticket, we were told that their earliest time for booking was 12.30. We were shown to a table and after around fifteen minutes the prosecco that we had ordered arrived, followed at around 12.35, by our Afternoon Tea sandwiches and cakes. I was quite disappointed with the sandwiches as they were rather on the dry side and the smoked salmon was positively hard and chewy. The service I have to say was really good but for £40 per person I was expecting slightly better.

    We enjoyed our meal and experience at Haxells restaurant at the Strand Palace Hotel last Saturday. However, our booking through Open Table wasn’t registered with them despite our confirmation. It was a little worrying and maybe we wouldn’t use OT again. Fortunately the maitre’d found us a table!
