   We went there for our anniversary dinner, we got Sydnee as our server and she was great! The apps were good with the calamari being the star (had the Beef Wellington bites and cheeseburger egg rolls too). Both of our salads were very good. I got the wedge with the blue cheese crumbles on the side and added the optional bacon. Hubs got the Caesar salad. We both very much enjoyed the freshness of them. Now where the food experience faulted, was our entrees. Hubs got the Cajun rib eye Oscar Style and I got the sea bass. He ordered his medium (was a 20oz steak) and it arrived well done - fully gray and edges burnt. Sydnee apologized and went to the kitchen to refire another one. She left the original one for him to try to eat on while the replacement came, and it was cooked correctly. My sea bass (that I have had 3 times previously and it’s been amazing) was a super thick piece and it tasted extremely fishy and parts were slimy and mushy. After a couple bites and trying to see if there were any salvageable parts, I just had her take it. Once again she apologized and we said we weren’t upset with her. She didn’t cook it and she really appreciated that. Sullivan’s offers a free dessert for Anniversary’s so we got to pick one from their list, we went with the Banana Fosters Bread Pudding and omg if you get anything that we had - it has to be that! It was served warm with vanilla bean ice cream and caramel drizzle. It was SO good!! Highly recommend!

   While the reception was wonderful upon entry, the end of our evening made the three of us realize that the food quality is less than desirable and we will no longer dine at any Sullivans. The appetizers were good and the beverages great, but the meals were horrible. Crab cakes and garlic mashed potatoes were both cold. The scallops, overcooked. The ribeye was lukewarm and 1/3 was gristle and fattier than a normal ribeye - and for $68 was disgusting.i have a photo. The cheesecake sandwich lacked cheese and had no peppers, one piece of onion and three strips of meat. For a birthday celebrations for my motherNlaw and hubby, our disappointment fell on flat ears. I did ask if the crab cakes were to be served cold and was told no, and the cost was taken off without our asking. Our bill less the crab cakes was $258 for the three of us and only two of us had beverages. To spend this amount of money and have poor food quality and a mediocre experience should embarrass Sullivans.

   Wonderful birthday dinner. They had gold celebration confetti on our table. I had shared on “special occasion” section of my reservation. It was a very thoughtful touch. I had 4 other guests attend my dinner and they were able to seamlessly add the additional guests via the Open Table App. The food was excellent. Nice three course option. The ambiance was relaxed and classy. One of my friends attending had never been to Sullivan’s and she definitely will be back. It was a memorable birthday dinner and I am so pleased we chose Sullivan’s for my birthday.

    Appetizer #1 Ordered the Beef Wellington Bite - The Beef Wellington sauce was SALTY and overpowered the dish. We couldn’t bring ourselves to eat more than one each. Appetizer #2 Ordered the Jumbo Lump Crab Cake. Crab Cake didn’t taste good at all, the crab tasted like it was not properly stored, and was contaminated, we couldn’t bring ourselves to finish it either. Dinner Plate #1 Ordered the 12oz Filet Mignon with Crab stuffed shrimp and Lemon Beurre Blanc, for dinner plate # 1… the crab had the same bad taste and the shrimp were rubbery and also had the same contaminated taste. Never received the Lemon Beurre Blanc. The steak was cooked to temperature for the most part, but it was under seasoned. Dinner Plate # 2 ordered 16oz Ribeye with the Gorgonzola Butter. This was prepared correctly and was one of the best things tasted at our table, along with the sourdough bread served hot and with butter. Dinner Plate # 3 ordered Seared Scallops with the Zesty Lemon Cream, Basil Oil, Asparagus Risotto. Not to our surprise, the scallops also carried that same contaminated taste, but it wasn’t as strong as the other seafood served at our table. A the plate came with maybe a 1/4 cup of the risotto and 1” asparagus chunk. Only Side Dish ordered, Lobster White Cheddar and Bacon Au Gratin Potatoes. The lobster spoiled this whole dish. Found NO bacon pieces; and the lobster was not properly peeled so we had shells in our dish as people went to take bites; and again, with the awful contaminated seawater taste. Ordered two drinks from the bar, a beer on draft and martini. The martini was left untouched after one sip. The server never asked about our thoughts on the food, but he was also not at the table but maybe a 3 times in total. We were too scared to attempt dessert after this awful experience, AND I’m a dessert person and will always take one to go if I have no room at the restaurant. The experience and quality of food is definitely NOT worth what we spent!
