   The food was great. The service was great. Felt rushed. Less than 5 minutes after the appetizers arrived, the dinner was at the table. I know you need to turn your tables around but that was ridiculous

   We’ve been coming to Sunset Grille for more than 20 years and it has always been one of the highlights of our trip to Aruba. While the atmosphere and sunset here is unmatched, and the service was attentive and friendly, the quality of the food has significantly declined. For example, the wedge salad was bathed in watery dressing with no blue cheese crumbles, while the Caesar salad also had a watery dressing and was overloaded with breadcrumbs. The sea bass was undercooked, not seared as expected and tasted like it had been boiled in butter. The risotto and steak frites did get good review from our party. Unfortunately, sunset grille is charging top of the range pricing but delivering very mid food…sadly no longer worth the splurge.

   The food was terribly disappointing. The buratta and tomato salad — the cheese was hard and crusty and when cut open dried out…. There were 4 tiny cherry tomatoes for a giant piece of awful bursts… Sent back. The crab cakes were 90% breadcrumbs and dried out with no taste at all…. Sent back. The wedge salad dressing had no taste. The tuna app gave 5 tiny bite sized pieces drowning in a spicy sauce for som ridiculous amount of money. The view was lovely but could have been appreciated by the pool area of the Hilton or in the beach. The hype was baloney…..

   The view is spectacular as watching the sunset. Service was wonderful and food was perfect. Definitely coming back next year.

   This was our third time celebrating our anniversary at Sunset Griil. We came for the pretty outdoor setting and delicious steak. Unfortunately the Filets were just not cooked as ordered and the medium rare plus was more like rare minus. (Pretty gross). Mac and cheese and rolls were excellent. The atmosphere of the outdoor restaurant itself is beautiful but it closely overlooks an outdoor sports bar that for some strange reason is very brightly lit with bluish lights. Those out of place lights and the bar’s music really take the serenity out of the sunset grill and make this elegant restaurant feel a bit cheesy. I think if they just toned that down until 10, it would make a huge difference. Ask for a table farthest from the bar.

    Food was flavorful but the service was probably the worst I’ve experienced in Aruba. Just one drink took over 30 minutes to arrive. We ordered our apps and entrees at the same time to try and avoid further delay but we timed it and it took nearly 40 minutes for 2 wedge salads to arrive at our table. I requested additional dressing and by the time the manager brought my dressing out my salad was already finished. Our sides arrived even later and separately from the main course. Though both the mushroom fricassee and lobster Mac were flavorful, the Mac was very watery and noodles were undercooked (not al dente, but undercooked). Overall we were disappointed considering the price point of the restaurant and likely won’t be back unless some changes in service are made.
