I dined at Sweet Basil recently, and while the overall experience had its highs, it was somewhat marred by inconsistent service. The bartender was noticeably unenthusiastic; it felt like he was not happy to be there, which reflected in his lack of attentiveness. This somewhat dampened the start of our evening. On a brighter note, our server was fantastic. She was knowledgeable about the menu, explaining each dish and dessert with enthusiasm, which made up for some of the earlier disappointment. Regarding the food, the dishes were good but didn't leave a lasting impression. They were executed well but lacked that special touch to make them memorable. However, the desserts were a highlight - their presentation was excellent, almost art-like, which was a pleasant surprise. Overall, a decent meal with room for improvement, particularly in the bar service department.

I've been going to Sweet Basil for 15 years. Food is still delicious. Service is atrocious, truly the worst service in vail at lunch time. Rude staff got multiple things in our order wrong (missing dishes, extra stuff we didn't order), was unapologetic and rude about their mistakes.

We had a very nice Christmas lunch. Service was very personable and efficient. Food was very good. Bubbly by the glass was ridiculously expensive…got a half bottle of the same stuff for the price of one glass. A really nice wine list that has some reasonable price points…

Great restaurant with a unique menu. A must appetizer is the whipped feta. Delicious and a nice presentation. The burger and caesar salad with shrimp were both good. As was the French onion lasagne. Leave room for dessert. The lemon and fennel is my all time favorite dessert. Unbelievable flavors! We also had the sticky toffee pudding. Very good too. The service was top notch. Corinne was very pleasant and knowledgeable about the menu. She was excellent. Attentive and helpful. We had an enjoyable dining experience.
