Review summary

AI-generated from verified diner reviews
Taft Diaz offers a welcoming atmosphere with "fantastic service" and a "cozy vibe" in downtown El Paso. Highlights include "decadent" dishes and standout bison burgers. While some dishes may fall short, the "incredible" appetizers like pork meatballs and unique offerings like octopus chicharrón shine. Ideal for a special occasion or a delightful meal.

It was an exquisite dining experience - from the cocktails, to the starters, to meal and wine. Our server, Luis, was incredible.

Food was amazing, the service was excellent, it was clean. Great environment. They had a DJ, which was great. However the the music was a tad too loud. The brussel sprouts and gnocchi were absolutely amazing!

All the dishes were cold, including the steak. The bread was essentially frozen in the middle. Hardly ever had water and they barely got that service right with the main course. Lack of a dessert menu was disappointing. Drinks were fine. Taste was on point, just cold. Ambiance was lovely.

From the moment I walked in, the service was excellent. The staff was warm, polite, and created a welcoming atmosphere with a great vibe. The ambiance was pristine and well-maintained, adding to the overall experience. While the food was just okay, everything else made for a pleasant visit. Overall, a great experience!

The Taft Diaz was an absolutely beautiful little spot with fantastic service. The cocktails were also good (though somewhat overpriced, particularly their “elevated” cocktails). We got the pork meatballs to start, and they were incredible!! They also served house made ciabatta bread, which was also delicious. We should’ve stopped there. 😬 For our entrees, I got the Chilean sea bass (for almost $60). The fish was overcooked; I couldn’t simply slice it with a fork. The risotto it came with was undercooked rice; not at all a creamy risotto. My husband got the lobster spaghetti, and on the menu it says “half a Maine lobster” with angel hair. It was, in actuality, 2 small lobster claws served with what looked (and tasted) more like a buckwheat soba noodle… all in all, the service and appetizer were good, but we were very disappointed with the main entrees, especially at that price point.

Our server Eva help create a friendly and personable experience. We have the signature corn and truffle soup along with the Caesar salad for starters. The dry aged New York strip was cooked to perfection with an excellent crusted outer char. Dessert we enjoyed a refreshing strawberry sorbet. This place is worth a stop if you happen to be in El Paso, Texas.

Very nice place and the service was good, but the food was not good. Lobster Spaghetti was bland! Very disappointing. The sauce was watery and yes very salty. The addition of caviar is the reason for the saltiness. The New York dried age was very underwhelming as well. No flavor. The fries were ok besides a few raw ones. Only thing that we liked besides the bread was the octopus chicharrón. My recommendation is to skip this one and go try Casa Pantera. Same price range but the food there is an OMG moment in every bite🤤.

Thank you for your feedback Adan! We're always striving to provide our guests with an excellent experience and we fell short on your visit. We hope you give us another chance soon! We will pass along your cuisine comments to our chefs as well. Thank you.

While the ribeye and mashed potatoes were outstanding, the pasta was very underwhelming. It was "wet" and had no flavor even though it was supposed to have some kind of cheese. Felt the food was underwhelming for the price paid. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The restaurant itself was very clean, although the music was a bit too loud and it was hard to talk to someone.

The food was over seasoned, asked for medium burger got well done. Pink = medium greay = cooked. We were the first to sit down and we were the last to be helped. Will not recommend or go back especially for the price I paid for 2 burgers and kids chicken tenders
