   Rolled the dice having never been here, but trusted the reviews and arranged a business dinner for two executives who are in the California fresh produce industry, happen to be vegetarian and had not been to San Francisco since before the pandemic (no pressure….). Everything about our dinner was truly fabulous. We ordered a wide range of dishes (olives, hummus platter, cauliflower, wheatberry risotto, eggplant) and were blown away. The food and preparation were outstanding, the service was exceptional and the ambiance was warm and welcoming. Will absolutely return for a personal meal and put on the list for work dinners.

   Amazing Turkish food at Taksim SF on 4th Street/Freelon Alley. Delicious lamb chops, shish kebabs, chickpea fritters, onion seed bread, and pistachio baklava 🇹🇷👏

   The best salad and shrimp dishes were memorable. I chose it because of its proximity to the Caltrain station. Very pleased it was so good.

   It was our first time here. Love Turkish food and we were in town, gave it a try. Most of the stuff we ordered tonight was either completely cold or partially cold. For instance Turkish tea came to our table very cold. I had to ask to change it. The wood fire flower bread was looking good but was doughy! Patlican was completely cold. But, again maybe this is an appetizer that can be eaten warm and cold. Anchovy rice pilaf that came with Branzino was cold and so was the grilled sea beans. The sumac onion that came with shish kebab and looked so gold, was not eatable as it was very cold. Also, there was a slice of tomato with the shish kebab that had grilled marked but fridge temperature cold ☹️ We are not coming back.

   We had a party of 10 to celebrate my husband’s dinner. Lovely service, delicious food family-style that they coursed out with accompanying changes of clean plates. Great communication about the pacing. I also ordered a cake to be delivered to the restaurant. They were readily accommodating and let me know as soon as I arrived that my cake had been delivered earlier in the afternoon as planned. We sat in a space upstairs where you can see the rest of the restaurant but had some noise separation.

   Great experience, very interesting food with high complexity and flavor, attentive staff. Also super place for vegetarians or pescatarians. Recommend!

   Went for the Valentine’s Day pre fix menu on 2/14/2025 Was expecting much better dishes and elaborate meals. Was a letdown considering the cost and expectations. Started salad was very mediocre. No flavor or anything to it. Second course - cauliflower dish was bland. Shrimp was alright. I still did not feel like it was Turkish cuisine. Main course - tried lamb and chicken. Tasted good but nothing amazing. Dessert - don’t even remember it.

    Staff and ambiance were impeccable, and made for a very positive experience. Valentine’s tasting menu was $98 per person and offered four courses, which I think is a fair price. The reason I left disappointed though was the food itself, its size, and the cocktail I had. All of the food my girlfriend and I ordered came out lukewarm, and parts of her main dish were even cool. The portions were all extremely small, and if you combined all my courses into a single plate they would’ve easily fit without any stacking or touching. The cumulative size for all courses would’ve been noticeably less than a single entrée plate at any other mid-level restaurant. The flavors were fine, but none of them great, and the Peach Bazaar cocktail I got tasted artificial and lacked any semblance of care for presentation. Overall, the ambiance and staff was great, but neither the food or cocktail was that good. I paid $260 for two people’s food, two bottles of sparkling water, one cocktail, one mocktail, and a 20% tip. I left hungry and had to find a taco shop to actually satisfy my appetite which shouldn’t happen at that price. I’m sure the regular menu is better, but my experience with the Valentine’s tasting menu was very disappointing and I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to friends or family.
