   Excellent and inventive takes on traditional dishes. Top quality ingredients. We requested a booth in the back to mitigate the noise level, and it did quiet down a bit after 9:30 or so. Still one of our favorite neighborhood choices.

   Rigatoni Ragu was very good. Caccio Pepe was ok, but way too much pepper for me. Nonna’s pasta and mini meatballs - sauce is excellent, meatballs were ok.

   The food and the service were both excellent. I had the orecchiette and my friend had the polipo. They had an excellent wine selection , as well. The dessert was incredible. We had the Budino and the Italian cheesecake. I loved that the food wasn’t too much. A perfect amount to enjoy for a lunch. Excellent place. .

   I ordered octopus. It was greasy and dry . Lesson learned-stick with basics at a place that doesn’t specialize in seafood. My friend said her chicken panini was good

   Although characterized on Open Table as vegetarian-friendly, it wasn't any more so than pretty much all italian restaurants, and vegatarian and vegan dishes were not flagged on their menu: I had to read the detailed descriptions of all the dishes to see which ones were vegetarian. I settled on the Bisteca di Cavolfiore (cauliflower) Arrosto as appetizer, and on the Cacio e Pepe as main dish. The first one came barely lukewarm and I had to send it back to the kitchen to have it warmed up (which took an extra ±8 minute wait). It was also quite bland, although the sauce even with its OK sauce. The main dish was very cheesy, and I had to spend a good amount of time in the bathroom to loosen up all that had stuck to my teeth: a quite uninteresting entree. My companion, who is not vegetarian started with a Burrata which looked quite colorful and which she said was delicious. Her main dish was a Risotto gambrel e saffron (with fresh wild shrimp, and she was delighted with that entree. The dessert menu offered a selection of essentially stand-bys. I chose the Affogato which was rather small and nothing special, while she chose their Tiramisu, which was presented in a glass (as was min dessert) and pretty much filled that glass, and which she declared as tasting quite good. Our experiences were thus rather very different and the overall rating of "3" which I indicated was the average of of my "2" and her "4." Our dinner was fairly early (±5:30 PM to ±6:40 PM) and our friendly waitress only had 2 table to serve, and was, perhaps as a result of the smallish number of guests, responsive to our needs (as was the tallish waiter that came over when we signaled a problem and she was in the kitchen). Besides my lukewarm cauliflower appetizer, my companion was also served a lukewarm coffee she had ordered to complete her meal. She drank it, but, having noted the fact to our waitress, she then did not add it to our bill. Personally I would'nt recommend this restaurant to friend.
