   The vibe is great, fun and lively with a great wine selection but our food was terrible. My husband and I both ordered the hamburger which was called “award winning”. It didn’t have any flavor at all and was so overly salty! We love good hamburgers but this one isn’t good!!

   We have been to Tarbells multiple times. I provided a lower than usual rating for this visit only. The restaurant was at best 20% full. There were two servers and two busers/back waiters. So adequately staffed. However, our server seemed distracted and awkward. We later found out he had a family emergency, which forced him to leave before our service was done. We don't know the details, but we hope that an accommodation can be made for these situations before things go off service wise. Food wise, we loved the salmon entree. The lettuce wraps were great. The roast chicken was delicious. And my daughter loved the Grilled cheese and tomatoe bisque. However, we had to ask for a second bowl of bisque as the 3/4(?) cup serving was way too little for dipping. The extra was provided without issue. The potato croquette appetizer was a bit of a miss. The croquettes could have been made more interesting with more sauce and some additional texture in the croquettes (peas, carrots, something?) Oh as always we think Tarbells is among the finest local restaurants

   We had delicious food and drinks and our server Andrew was very attentive. We loved being able to go into the wine store to pick out our wine for dinner.

   Food good but overpriced! Hamburger 21$ plus without fries a bit much especially with order to be shared by two was 12$. However food good and prepared as ordered . Thought res was to restaurant but was to separate facility next door for bar/tavern with lighter fare. Facility has wine for sale and drinking on premises with sommelier to assist. Very good coconut cream pie made on premises for dessert.

   Service was really slow while sitting at the bar. We ordered the salmon bowl (a new item on the menu) and it was awful.

   We love the tavern! Love the food! However tonight it was just way off. We made a reservation for 6:15 PM we didn’t get a drink for 45 minutes. We didn’t even order until after that. It was about an hour and 15 minutes before we received food. It is usually spot on and excellent. Even though the manager tried to make amends, it doesn’t change that they were understaffed and asked too much of the stuff they had on hand. I sincerely hope they can correct the issue because we love going here.

   Always a pleasure on the tavern side of this iconic restaurant and chef. I love the wine shopping from the wall with no corkage fee for table or at the bar.. Very lively Saturday night, with a nice, diverse crowd. Noise levels contained a little stretch on the service, but they also didn’t rush us at all from a table. All four dishes, outstanding., needless to say so was the wine , and best charcuterie appetizer plate I’ve seen in Phoenix so far!

   Amazing food, service and ambiance. Patty Melt , lobster roll and grilled cheese are all amazing! And the coconut cream pie is off the charts!

    Food was average. WAY overpriced. The wine, the food… it’s just not that special for the price. Literally their “retail wine shop” is 30-40% over Total Wine. Just embarrassingly over-priced.
