Four stars very good fits perfectly for Teakwood. We've been Burma Love fans for years and Teakwood is a welcome addition to the Hayes Valley pre-event scene. Our server was very sweet, and while service overall was a bit disjointed, it was understandable. They handled the pre-theater rush well. The atmosphere is bright and lovely and the food was very good.

Had to wait for a table…a definite problem when you’re trying to get to the Symphony. Our meal came in bits and pieces and we weren’t able to enjoy it as a meal. When our second entree was delivered had to corral a waiter to bring the rice we ordered, etc, etc..,

I’ve been to Teakwood about 6 times now, maybe more for lunch and dinner. It’s always good and to start with a Tea Leaf salad (for 2 to 4 ppl) and Roti fried bread is best. Entrees are all good depending on yr preference. We had the calamari on this visit and it’s not fried (which I love), but the preparation is beautiful and it’s delicious. This starter is a bit high priced IMO, but if you love fresh, go for this. They have 3 dessert choices and and for 4 of us we got all three. They are ALL great, with the mango sticky rice being my favorite. Dinner was shared and the Superstar fried rice was awesome, as were the chicken satay. I love this place and our server (Devon(?) was so great.
