The menu is unusual and the combinations sound a bit bizarre. We had breakfast there today and it was excellent in every regard - especially our lovely server!

I have mixed feelings about this place, in it's current state (Nov. 2024). I have been here many times before the current management. I liked the previous menu quite a lot, the restaurant was a place for special occasions for us. The new management and menu. First of all the food and drink we had was very good, nice presentation, high quality, probably as fresh as you could expect. All of the staff were very polite and professional, no complaints there. Everyone was very nice and worked hard. I offer these negative(ish) comments in the hope that they will be helpful to management as I would like to see this place survive. Our dinner included no appetizers, three drinks, salads, entrees and shared dessert. All that cost us close to $220. As good as the food was we do not think it was a $220 experience. We mentioned the difference in menus to the waitress and she said they were responding to the tastes of the area (that is also when we found out about the change in management). I don't doubt that the restaurant staff believes what the waitress said but I am very skeptical of that reality. That part of the State is working class people, they aren't going to spend that kind of money for two people. This is not Silicon Valley or San Francisco. The money comes from people like us, retired, traveling, a little money to spend on a nice dinner while we enjoy our time on the road, tourism. The menu itself was heavy on vegetables and fruit. Almost every item had a vegan option, a little heavy on the vegan angle as far as we were concerned. Every menu item used the most complex possible method of explaining what was in the item. We felt like they were using big words to justify the cost, it was annoying. Drop the vegan focus. You can note it one time on the menu, not for every item, we don't need to be clubbed with it. Get another one or two meat entrees and a normal salad.

I would love to rate this restaurant but can't because we walked out. We sat for a 630 reservation and ordered sparkling water. 23 mins after sitting, our water came. 35 mins after sitting, we got up and left. The restaurant was maybe half full. NO ONE said anything to us..There was 2 waitstaff and a server and manager that ignored us. We were also guests at the INN. So sad, because we have been going for 25+ years. Menu looks good but no idea how it tastes.

The Good: The fresh cod fish was excellent! The service was kind and prompt. The OK: The ambience was somewhat cafeteria like with tables laid out uninterestingly in a large room BUT with lovely assorted light baskets hanging from the ceiling. The Bad: The wild rice under my fish was so hard I was worried about it breaking my teeth so I stopped eating it! The Caramelized Onion Galette was so flavorless it was like eating a plain piece of white bread. The margarita I ordered was tasteless so I requested a splash of Cointreau be added, then a Splenda. 😛 We had to request a candle be put on our unstable table after requesting a shim under one leg. NOTE: I hope the chef/bar will be willing to take some constructive criticism.

Greetings. Thank you for your informative review. I'm sorry that you had a disappointing experience and the items ordered were not to standard. The entire operation is always open to helpful feedback, and we will take your comments and implement the needed adjustments to improve our service and product. Also, I just reordered shims for the tables! Thank you for the reminder. I hope that if we are fortunate to have you as a guest in the future, you will have a much better experience dining with us. What a disappointment. We are locals and went to Terra Mar because they were offering a contribution to the local Humane Society. We had previously been patrons of the Albion River Inn, their predecessor. What a disappointment! The menu was limited, the food was disappointing and the service was poor. Two of us thought the meal was OK, but not what we'd ordered...homemade chips replaced with spuds? A young man bussing, with a jacket and wool cap, was in not what you'd call appropriate attire. Picking up the glass inappropriately to refill, I wondered where his hands had been. The decor is austere at best and the lighting was so dim, we all resorted to our phones to see the menu. My chicken was too dry to eat and the dessert was awful. As a lovely place to stay, I hope they will survive, but for us, we won't be back.

With a stunning ocean view, we enjoyed a wonderful breakfast at the restaurant. The French toast was delicious, perfectly sweetened, and just right. Additionally, the chef’s unique flavor combinations in Huevos Rancheros offered an exciting taste experience. Highly recommended!

Thank you for your encouraging feedback. I absolutely love our breakfast menu, but the Huevos Rancheros are next level for me. My favorite breakfast item! Please visit us again! Tony F&B Manager

Terra Mar kitchen does not come close to living up to its predecessor when it was the albion inn restaurant. Perhaps they just haven't perfected their fall menu but, I would not return. The chef is trying to make unique dishes, marrying atypical ingredients, but we all felt he missed his mark. The service by Evan was mediocre at best. The rock cod on the Pacific catch was our best choice. The half chicken and pork shank were quite ordinary and not quite there, missing something. The carrot kabocha squash pie just didn't work, though we did like the pear carpaccio.

Greetings. Thank you for your important and helpful feedback. I'm sorry that the menu execution and service was less than acceptable. I am committed to working with the kitchen and service staff on listening to valuable guest comments and making needed improvements, as well as working to pave a path that will build a positive following in the community, much like our predecessor (who I remember well) established for so many years.
