Beginning in 2006, we have been serving the finest quality food to the Virginia Beach Oceanfront. Our goal, from day one has been to make damn good food, with honest ingredients while being kind to those we meet along the way.
We offer Terrace seating. Our Terrace is protected from inclement weather and heated for year round dining. It is NOT air conditioned. We do have ceiling fans and cooling fans for the warmer days.
We are proud to present our guests with a dinner menu free of hydrogenated oils, and high fructose corn syrup, yet full of flavor that only the freshest ingredients from local sources can provide.
At Terrapin restaurant, we are very passionate about supporting sustainable organic farmers and local watermen, as well as preserving the integrity of our menu and products.

First impressions last and they gave us an amazing first impression. I have not been to the place before I made my reservation. I just based it off reviews. I have been to nicer places but this one gave me that “ At Home” feeling. It was our 19th anniversary and they made our own Menu with our names on it. I know it is nothing and probably did not cost them a penny, but it’s those small gestures that made us love this place.

We have loved this restaurant since it opened. When we visit Virginia Beach it is a must stop for us. Our meal and cocktails yesterday were no exception. The quality of the food remains high the preparation excellent and the service first rate.

This place is fantastic. The short rib, pork tenderloin, oysters and mussels were all amazing. Our server Courtney was so friendly and great! Parking situation is my only gripe. We had to sit in the lot for like 10 minutes before we found find a spot.

The food and service was outstanding. We enjoyed the oysters and procecco from the happy hour menu. Probably the best oysters we have had in Virginnia. We had the short rib patsa and truffle mac and cheses both were excellent. The service was exceptionally good, prompt and attentive.

This is our second time at Terrapin. It was as good or better the second time. We went during happy hour and what a deal! Two drinks, two apps, and two 1/2 portion homemade pastas for 64$! The best happy hour in town. Hands down.

We try to eat at Terrapin whenever we are in Virginia Beach. My wife raves over the "Truffle Mac & Cheese". The food was exquisite as always. Unfortunately, the restaurant was so loud it spoiled the experience. We were at a table for two, but the tables were jammed so close together we felt like we were part of a large group. I could hardly talk to my wife across the small table it was so loud.
